Bellator MMA earned its second-best rating of Season 9 this past Friday when Bellator 108 averaged 793,000 viewers for its two-hour broadcast on Spike TV, according to the cable channel.
Only Bellator 106 outperformed Friday’s event, as the Nov. 2 show averaged 1.2 million observers. That broadcast peaked with 1.4 million viewers during a lightweight title rematch between Eddie Alvarez and Michael Chandler.
Bellator 108 took place at Revel in Atlantic City, N.J., and also saw Vitaly Minakov stop Alexander Volkov to become the Viacom-owned promotion’s new heavyweight king. Additionally, Marcos Galvao made a successful return to action following a nine-month Bellator absence, and Patricio Freire earned another title shot by dispatching Justin Wilcox in the featherweight tournament final.
