Stefan Struve: Brock Lesnar Doesn’t Belong in the UFC

Stefan Struve isn’t thrilled with the rumor that Brock Lesnar might be in negotiations to return to the Ultimate Fighting Championship after President Dana White posted a picture on Twitter alongside the former heavyweight champion. Lesnar’s current contract with the WWE is due to expire next month after Wrestlemania.

“Skyscraper” offered his thoughts on the rumor, considering what happened last time Lesnar was inside the Octagon. Lesnar took on Mark Hunt at UFC 200 in July 2016 in a highly controversial fight where Lesnar won by unanimous decision although the decision was overturned to a no-contest after the giant allegedly tested positive for clomiphene and was suspended for a year.

Struve told MMAJunkie.com during a media day session for UFC 222 that he took issue with the handling of the testing process after Lesnar was apparently exempt from this seemingly mandatory procedure:

“No (he shouldn’t fight again); he doesn’t belong here in my opinion. He got caught, and just look at that guy. He’s a physical specimen, but it doesn’t make sense. The way they brought him in with the exemption for him not having to do the testing for the four months when he came back – that’s ridiculous. You bring someone back, a guy who looks like him, and he doesn’t have to get tested, and then fights? Mark Hunt, he’s in the right. Of course he’s upset with that.”

Struve takes on another veteran in the heavyweight division when he faces Andrei Arlovski on Saturday as part of UFC 222.
