A women’s strawweight championship rematch between Melissa Martinez and Desiree Yanez will serve as the main event for Combate Americas’ upcoming event in Mexico City on March 20.

The promotion recently announced the matchup. The card will take place at Fronton Mexico and will feature a number of Mexico vs. UFC bouts. AXS TV will televise the event beginning at 10 p.m. ET/ 7 p.m. PT. Daniel Zellhuber will square off against Tommy Aaron in the lightweight co-main event, while David Martinez will meet Jesse Strader in a featured bantamweight affair.

“It is fitting that we do this much-anticipated rematch in world-class Mexico City and the reigning world champion’s hometown, and we expect to see astronomical TV ratings with it,” Combate Americas CEO Campbell McLaren said in a release.

Martinez defeated Yanez via split decision at Combate Americas “Tito vs. Alberto” on Dec. 7. The Mexico City native is unbeaten in seven professional bouts, all but one of which have occurred under the Combate Americas banner.

Yanez, meanwhile, saw a four-bout winning streak come to an end at the hands of Martinez. In addition to a victory over Paulina Vargas in Combate Americas, “Dirty Dez” owns a 1-1 mark in the Legacy Fighting Alliance organization. She is 5-2 as a pro overall.
