Lightweight Caros Fodor is the latest Strikeforce fighter to make the move to the UFC.
Fodor will look to rebound from a March submission defeat at the hands of top Strikeforce contender Pat Healy. It was Fodor’s first setback in the Strikeforce cage, as 28-year-old Washingtonian had previously rattled off five straight wins, including finishes of Justin Wilcox and David Douglas.
Stout, also 28, alternated wins and losses in 2012, winning a unanimous decision in his rubber match Spencer Fisher while dropping three-rounders to Thiago Tavares and countryman John Makdessi. “Hands of Stone” holds a 7-7 UFC record with notable victories over Joe Lauzon and Yves Edwards.
UFC 157 takes place at Honda Center in Anaheim, Calif., and will be headlined by the first UFC women’s title bout, a 135-pound matchup between champion Ronda Rousey and challenger Liz Carmouche.
