On the final episode of Dana White’s Contender Series, T.J. Brown earned a UFC contract with a third-round submission of Dylan Lockard.
“It was great to get the win. This time, I got the win but wasn’t happy. It wasn’t one of my best performances. I have some first round finishes,” Brown said to Sherdog.com. “After looking at the other fights, and the adversity I had, I figured I would get it. But, it was mind blowing when Dana White announced it.”
Now with a UFC contract and three straight wins by stoppage in 2019, Brown is hoping to make his Octagon debut later this year on the same card as his teammate, Bryce Mitchell. Mitchell will face Matt Sayles at UFC on ESPN 7 in Washington, D.C. on Dec. 7.
“I’m on a six-fight winning streak including boxing and kickboxing and want to keep this year rolling, so I want to make my debut by the end of the year. My teammate Bryce Mitchell is fighting in Washington, so I want to get on that card. Any opponent, I don’t care.”
