Evangelista "Cyborg" SantosLegacy Fighting Championship debut will have to wait.

Promotion officials informed Sherdog.com on Thursday that the Brazilian suffered an injury during training, leaving him unable to face Pete Spratt at L FC 17 as originally anticipated. He will be replaced in the evening’s headliner by Bellator and Sengoku veteran Dan Hornbuckle. LFC 17 takes place in San Antonio, Texas on Feb. 1, and the main card will be broadcast on AXS-TV.

Anchored at American Top Team, Hornbuckle posted a 3-3 mark during a six-fight stint with Bellator, including victories over Tyler Stinson, Steve Carl and Brad Blackburn. “The Handler” was defeated in his last two outings with the promotion, dropping unanimous verdicts to Brent Weedman and Luis Santos in 2011.

Santos has lost six of his past nine appearances, most recently falling to Jordan Mein at Strikeforce “Barnett vs. Kharitonov” via third-round TKO. Prior to that defeat, the Chute Boxe Academy representative was submitted by then-Strikeforce welterweight champion Nick Diaz in January 2011.
