Two Matches Announced for PRIDE Bushido 7

TOKYO, Japan – The first two matches have been announced for PRIDE FIGHTING’S BUSHIDO VOLUME 7 fightcard … Ryo Chonan (Japan) versus Nino Schembri (Brazil) and Yoshiro Maeda (Japan) versus Charles Bennett (USA).

BUSHIDO VOLUME 7 will take place from the Ariake Coliseum in Japan and is scheduled to debut on North American pay per view via iNDEMAND, DIRECTV, DISH NETWORK, UrbanXtra, TVN1, VU!, and Viewer’s Choice Canada.

Ryo Chonan is coming off of back-to-back impressive victories, including a spectacular heel hook submission on Anderson Silva at SHOCKWAVE 2004 and a decision over Carlos Newton at BUSHIDO VOLUME 5. Now he’s set to face one of the world’s finest Brazilian Jiu Jitsu practitioners in Nino “Elvis” Schembri. Fighting out of the Chute Boxe Academy in Brazil, Schembri is a PRIDE veteran and boasts victories over the likes of Kazushi Sakuraba and Daiju Takase.

In the second announced match, Yoshiro Maeda of the Pancrase Inagakigumi team will face Charles “Krazy Horse” Bennett. Maeda is a talented fighter who has fought primarily in Pancrase and DEEP. At 13-0-1, he is now set to compete in BUSHIDO and will face stiff competition in Charles Bennett. Fighting out of Ocala, Florida, “Krazy Horse” has made a name for himself in the American mixed martial arts promotion, “King of the Cage.” Exciting, aggressive and unpredictable, “Krazy Horse” is known for his crowd-pleasing body slams as well as his celebratory post-fight back flips.
