MMAFighting.com was first to report Spivak vs. Vanderaa, which was initially slated for UFC 256 before Vanderaa tested positive for COVID-19. Meanwhile, MMA DNA brought word of the Trizano-Alves matchup. UFC Fight Night takes place at an as yet to be announced location and is headlined by a heavyweight clash between Curtis Blaydes and Derrick Lewis.
Spivak has alternated wins and losses in his first four UFC appearances. Most recently, the 25-year-old Moldovan captured a majority decision against Carlos Felipe at UFC Fight Night 172 on July 18. Spivak is 11-2 over the course of his pro career and has finished 10 of his victories inside the distance.
Anchored at Team Quest, Vanderaa received a UFC contract following a first-round technical knockout of Harry Hunsucker on Dana White’s Contender Series on Nov. 4. The 28-year-old Californian owns an 11-4 professional mark with other notable wins against Tony Lopez and Ruan Potts.
Trizano, who won Season 27 of “The Ultimate Fighter,” suffered his first career defeat in nine outings at UFC Fight Night 152, where he was submitted in the second round by Grant Dawson in May 2019. “The Lone Wolf” kicked off his promotional tenure with split decision triumphs over Joe Giannetti and Luis Pena.
Alves, meanwhile, enters his UFC debut on a five-bout winning streak. The former Titan FC competitor earned a promotional deal on the Contender Series thanks to a submission of Alejandro Flores last August.
