Tyrell Fortune to Face Azunna Anyanwu at Bellator 233 on Nov. 8

Tyrell Fortune has an opponent for Bellator 233, as the unbeaten heavyweight will lock horns with Azunna Anyanwu on Nov. 8 in Thackerville, Okla.

Sherdog.com confirmed the bout with a promotion official following an initial report from MMAjunkie.com. Bellator 233 takes place at Winstar World Casino and features a welterweight clash between John Salter and Costello van Steenis.

A former NCAA Division II national champion wrestler, Fortune is undefeated through seven professional appearances, all of which have occurred under the Bellator MMA banner. Most recently, the Arizona Combat Sports product submitted Rudy Schaffroth in the second frame at Bellator 225 on Aug. 24.

Anyanwu has won six of his last seven bouts, with his lone defeat during that time coming at the hands of Justin Ledet at UFC Fight Night 116. “Zu The 8th Wonder” has since rebounded to score a second-round TKO of Chris Daukaus at Cage Fury Fighting Championships on March 2 to run his professional mark to 15-5.
