Tyrell Fortune to Face Joe Hernandez at Bellator 193 on Jan. 26

Heavyweight prospect Tyrell Fortune will lock horns with Joe Hernandez at Bellator 193.

Sherdog.com confirmed the booking with a promotion official following an initial report from MMAFighting.com. Bellator 193 takes place at Pechanga Resort & Casino in Temecula, Calif., on Jan. 26 and is headlined by a clash between Lorenz Larkin and Fernando Gonzalez. The card airs on the Paramount Network beginning at 9 p.m. ET/8 p.m. CT.

Fortune, a Division II and junior college national champion as a wrestler, has been victorious in his first three Bellator MMA appearances. The Arizona Combat Sports representative went the distance for the first time at Bellator 178, when he outpointed Branko Busick on April 21.

Based out of Whittier, Calif., Hernandez will enter his promotional debut on a two-bout skid. “2 Gunz” has not competed since March 2016, when he suffered a second-round KO defeat against Jared Vanderaa at Smash Global “The Main Event 3.”
