UFC 179 Medical Suspensions: Phil Davis, Scott Jorgensen Sidelined for 3 Months

Winning light heavyweight Phil Davis and losing flyweight Scott Jorgensen received 180-day suspensions following their bouts at Saturday’s UFC 179.

The Brazilian Athletic Commission of MMA (CABMMA) on Monday released a list medical suspensions from the event, which took place at Maracanazinho Gymnasium in Rio de Janeiro and saw Jose Aldo defend his featherweight title against Chad Mendes in the main event. Both Aldo and Mendes received 60-day suspensions with no contact in training for 45 days.

CABMMA will require Davis to have his right hand cleared by an orthopedic doctor before lifting his suspension, while Jorgensen must have an X-ray on his left rib, which was injured by a cracking body kick from Wilson Reis.
