Only days after being revealed, a bantamweight bout between Russell Doane and Michinori Tanaka has been removed from the UFC 195 fight card.

An update to UFC.com on Monday featured a new UFC Fight Pass preliminary matchup for the January event pitting Tanaka against former Bellator titleholder Joe Soto.

Soto entered the UFC on a six-fight winning streak but has not fared well inside the Octagon, suffering brutal knockouts against T.J. Dillashaw and Anthony Birchak. Tanaka dropped a narrow split decision to Kyung Ho Kang last September and was subsequently suspended by the UFC for nine months after testing positive for banned substances.

Also included on the updated fight card is a lightweight bout between Abel Trujillo and Tony Sims which will air during the Fox Sports 1 prelim broadcast. Trujillo is in need of a win after being choked out by Tony Ferguson and Gleison Tibau in back-to-back bouts, while Sims looks to rebound from his first UFC defeat, an August decision loss to Olivier Aubin-Mercier.

UFC 195 takes place Jan. 2 at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. The pay-per-view portion of the event is topped by a UFC welterweight title fight between champion Robbie Lawler and longtime contender Carlos Condit.
