UFC 201 was a landmark event last Saturday as Tyron Woodley shocked the world by starching defending welterweight champion Robbie Lawler in just over two minutes. But that knockout wasn’t the only one of the night as several combatants were stopped and the majority of the fighters on the bill were forced in medical suspensions.
Along with former champ Lawler, Matt Brown, Francisco Rivera, Ed Herman, Damian Grabowski and Cesar Arzamendia all received 45-days suspensions. Six fighters received 30-day suspensions with no contact for 21 days: Karolina Kowalkiewcz, Erik Perez, Fredy Serrano, Ross Pearson, Michael Graves and Bojan Velickovic.
Ryan Benoit, who edged Serrano via split decision, was handed a 180-day suspension unless cleared earlier by a doctor, though a specific reason for such a lengthy hiatus was not released.
