UFC 219 Bonuses: ‘Cyborg,’ Holm, Nurmagomedov, Elliott Receive $50K Checks

It was a longer night at the office than normal for Cristiane Justino, but the Brazilian was her usual dominant self at UFC 219.

“Cyborg” and Holly Holm earned “Fight of the Night” honors and $50,000 apiece for their headlining bout on Saturday at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. While the scorecards were surprisingly close, Justino landed most of the bout’s most significant offense in going five rounds to win a unanimous decision for the first time in her professional career. Holm, meanwhile, gained a new measure of respect for going the distance with the most feared woman in the sport.

Elsewhere, Khabib Nurmagomedov received a “Performance of the Night” bonus for a dominant decision victory over fellow lightweight contender Edson Barboza in the evening’s co-main event. While Barboza was a game foe, he was simply overwhelmed by the pressure and grappling prowess of “The Eagle,” who won via scorecards of 30-25, 30-25 and 30-24.

Finally, Tim Elliott garnered a $50,000 “Performance of the Night” award for a submission of Mark Delarosa in a preliminary bantamweight contest. Elliott controlled scrambles throughout the fight, and he ended the bout with an anaconda choke 1:41 into round two.
