UFC 222 Salaries: ‘Cyborg’ ($500,000), Arlovski ($275,000), Ortega ($200,000) Top Payroll

Cristiane Justino had a short night at the office at UFC 222, but she was nonetheless the event’s top earner.

According to figures released by the Nevada State Athletic Commission, “Cyborg” pocketed a flat $500,000 purse for her technical knockout victory over Yana Kunitskaya in the evening’s main event. The featherweight championship bout ended 3:25 into the opening frame. Kunitskaya, the former Invicta FC bantamweight queen, earned $100,000 in defeat.

Meanwhile, Brian Ortega took home $200,000 for his first-round knockout of Frankie Edgar ($195,000) in the co-headliner. Ortega will also receive the next featherweight title shot against Max Holloway by virtue of his victory.

Elsewhere, longtime heavyweight veteran Andrei Arlovski won his second straight fight, as he took a decision over Stefan Struve in a featured clash. “The Pit Bull” made $275,000 for the performance, which tied him with Frank Mir for the most victories in UFC history with 16. Struve, meanwhile, earned $77,000.
