Iaquinta, who was originally supposed to face Paul Felder on the card, agreed to meet Nurmagomedov after Max Holloway was deemed medically unfit to compete one day before the bout. The Serra-Longo Fight Team representative was handed a 60-day sit by the NYSAC, which does not reveal specifics behind each suspension. Nurmagomedov, meanwhile, received a mandatory seven-day medical suspension.
The only other competitor from the UFC 223 card to receive a 60-day
suspension was Kyle
Bochniak, who lost a unanimous decision to Zabit
Magomedsharipov in a featherweight bout that garnered “Fight of
the Night” honors.
