UFC 230 Medical Suspensions: Chris Weidman Gets 90 Days After Knockout Loss



Chris Weidman will be sidelined 90 days following his third-round knockout loss to Ronaldo Souza in the UFC 230 co-main event.

The New York State Athletic Commission released a full list of medical suspensions from this past Saturday’s card, which took place at Madison Square Garden. Weidman and Ben Saunders, who fell to Lyman Good via first-round knockout, received the longest terms of anyone at UFC 230.

The NYSAC does not specify the injuries related to each suspension. Everyone who competed UFC 230 received at least a mandatory seven-day sit.

UFC 230 saw Daniel Cormier retain his heavyweight crown with a third-round submission of Derrick Lewis in the evening’s main event. Cormier was suspended seven days, while Lewis received a 30-day term from the NYSAC.

Additionally, Brian Kelleher was handed a 30-day administrative suspension after withdrawing from a proposed bantamweight clash against Montel Jackson on the day of the event due to illness.
