Wuliji Buren vs. Jonathan Martinez

Round 1

First up is the bantamweights as Jonathan Martinez takes on Wuliji Buren. The third man in the Octagon is Greg Kleynjans. They come out chopping each other with low kicks. Both guys are now mixing in some high kicks. Buren with the level change and he is now working for the double leg takedown and changes it to a body lock and gets the trip takedown. Martinez is working from the bottom but Buren remains heavy on top and is looking to pass the guard. Buren passes to half guard and goes for a guillotine choke but Martinez gets up and briefly gets a double leg takedown. Buren still has the guillotine locked in but it’s not tight. Now Martinez has passed the guard into side control but Buren is working for a Von Flue choke from the bottom. Martinez fights it off and Buren gives up the choke. In the transition Martinez takes the back of Buren. Martinez throws some elbows from back control and uses them to open Buren up and put his hooks around him. Buren gets the hooks off but is still being rode on by Martinez. Buren gets up and Martinez is hurting him with knees in the clinch along the cage. They break Martinez goes for a high kick but slips and now Buren is on top throwing punches at him. Buren is now on top in the guard but Martinez is working from the bottom. Buren lands some more hammerfists and then the round is over.

Round 2

Once again the fighters come out exchanging low kicks and high kicks. Buren moves in and lands a jump knee on Martinez, who returns with a kick to the body. They exchange punches and Martinez lands a low kick. Martinez just misses a big left hand on Buren. They continue to exchange low kicks. Burren goes in for a double leg takedown and gets it. He’s now working in half guard and looking to pass but Martinez is doing a good job defending from the bottom. Martinez is able to sweep Buren and is now on top. Now Buren sweeps Martinez and he is working for a choke but Martinez gets out of it. Buren is back on top in half guard. Buren turns Martinez over and gets his back briefly but Martinez gets out. Now Martinez has the back of Buren and is pushing him against the fence and trying to open him up with punches and elbows. Martinez is fishing for a rear-naked choke but Buren is using the cage to help him defend. Martinez lands some more knees to the thigh of Buren and the round is over.

Round 3

More low kicks to start the final round. Buren changes levels and goes in for a double leg but switches it to a trip takedown and gets it. Buren is now in full mount. This is the best position he’s had all night. Martinez sweeps him but gets locked into an armbar from Buren in transition. Buren doesn’t complete the armbar as Martinez is able to scramble out of it. Martinez now has the back of Buren and is landing heavy ground and pound on him. Martinez got the back of Buren along the fence and has both his hooks in. Martinez changes positions and now has full mount but goes back into back control. He has both hooks in again. Once again Martinez reverses to mount and then again back to back control. Martinez is landing some heavy punches and elbows from the back and the referee warns him for an illegal strike to the back of the head. Somehow Buren is able to scramble out of the control of Martinez and he is now on top working from the guard. Buren stands up but jumps back down on Martinez and locks in a guillotine. He’s now transitioned it to an anaconda choke. He lets go and Martinez scrambles out. Buren is working for a single leg takedown but Martinez stuffs it it and pushes Buren down backwards on the mat. Martinez is now in the guard and throwing punches on Buren. He continues to throw heavy leather and nearly finishes the fight with ground-and-pound but the buzzer rings and the fight is over.

Callan Potter vs. Jalin Turner

Round 1

It’s now time for a lightweight bout between Jalin Turner and Callan Potter. The referee is Peter Hickmott. They touch gloves. Potter lands a low kick. Potter rushes in with an overhand right and goes for a double leg takedown but Turner stuffs it and Potter pulls guard. Potter is looking for a leg lock but Turner stands back up. Turner with the jab. Turner lands a right hook and rocks Potter bad. Potter is hurt and Turner lands another right hook. Turner lands a hard kick to the body and follows it up with an uppercut which drops Potter. Turner is now on top landing nasty ground and pound and the referee runs in and saves Potter from any further damage.

Teruto Ishihara vs. Kyung Ho Kang

Round 1

Another bantamweight bout is on tap between Teruto Ishihara and Kyung Ho Kang. The ref is Herb Dean. The two men comes out exchanging low kicks, similar to the Martinez vs. Buren fight from earlier. Ishihara catches Kang with a right hook. Kang returns fire and they exchange punches. Kang rushes in and Ishihara clips him a with massive counter left hook. Kang is rocked but Ishihara can’t put him down. Kang has his wits about him now and is marching down Ishihara throwing right hooks. Ishihara with a low kick. Kang with a straight right hand. Kang gets Ishihara in the clinch and lands a massive knee to the chin but can't drop Ishihara. They are now exchanging punches in a crazy frenzy against the fence. This is pure madness. Both guys are winging huge left and right hooks on the chin but no one is falling. Kang with a knee. Ishihara with an overhand right. Wow, this is wild. Ishihara drops down for a double leg takedown and gets it. He takes the back of Ishihara. He can’t get his hooks in but is still riding the back of Ishihara. Now Kang has the hooks and is fishing for the rear-naked choke. He has a very tight grip around the throat of Ishihara now. Herb Dean checks on Ishihara and stops the fight as Ishihara refused to tap and went to sleep. This will be a strong contender to win "Fight of the Night."

Round 1

Up next is the flyweights as Kai Kara-France takes on UFC newcomer Raulian Paiva Frazao. The referee is Marc Goddard. The two circle and feel each other out for the first minute. Kara-France lands an overhand right that briefly drops Frazao. Kara-France just misses another overhand right. Frazao with a low kick. Frazao changes levels and goes in for a single leg takedown. Kara-France defends it well and they break. Kara-France with a left hook. Straight right lands from Frazao. Kara-France with an uppercut. Frazao just misses a high kick. Frazao lands a weak overhand right. Kara-France lands a straight-hook combo. Kara-France with a high kick that is blocked by Frazao. Low kick by Frazao. Frazao rushes in and land an overhand right that briefly hurts Kara-France but he manages to get away. Frazao rushes in and again lands a straight right. Overhand right by Frazao, and he just misses a high kick. Frazao with a kick to the body that’s partially blocked and the round is over.

Round 2

Frazao misses and overhand right. Kara-France goes in for a single-leg takedown but Frazao sweeps him and is now on top. Frazao is now in side control and landing punches to the head of Kara-France, who manages to scramble and get to his feet. Kara-France with another big overhand right. He rushes in for a double-leg takedown but Frazao stuffs it and now has Kara-France against the fence where he’s peppering him with knees. They break. Double jab by Kara-France. Counter straight right by Frazao. They exchange low kicks. Frazao lands an uppercut. Kara-France goes in for a double-leg takedown but Frazao stuffs it and is now standing on top of Kara-France landing big punches to the body. Kara-France lands an upkick and gets up to his feet. Kara-France with a straight right right to the chin of Frazao and he’s rocked. Frazao returns with a left hook. Hard low kick by Frazao. Another hard straight right by Frazao. He has Kara-France on his bike now. Another hard low kick by Frazao. Hard jab from Kara-France and a return body kick by Frazao. Kara-France goes for a single-leg takedown but Frazao goes for a guillotine choke. The bell rounds before he gets the choke in.

Round 3

They come out trading again but Frazao is getting the better of the exchanges. Kara-France with a superman punch. Hard left hook from Frazao. They circle and Frazao rushes in for a body kick but instead lands a nasty low blow on Kara-France. After a couple minutes Kara-France tells Goddard he’s good to go. The referee warns Frazao but no point is taken. They come out of the timeout exchanging heavy hooks. Both guys are landing at a similar clip. Body kick lands from Frazao. Hard straight right lands by Frazao. Hard jab by Kara-France. Frazao with a combination of punches to the body. But Kara-France wraps him up and gets the body-lock takedown. Frazao has a weak guillotine but uses it to get back to his feet. Frazao with another kick to the body and Kara-France returns with a jab. Left hook to the body by Frazao and an overhand counter right lands by Kara-France. Overhand left lands by Kara-France, and another. He’s landing shots while Frazao marches him down. The crowd is cheering as the fight nears its end. Kara-France shoots in for a late double-leg takedown and gets it, but the final bell rings and the fight is over. Close fight.

Round 1

It’s now time for a featherweight bout between Shane Young and Austin Arnett. The third man in the Octagon is Greg Kleynjans. Young moves in and lands a jab and then a straight right. Low kick by Young. Jab by Arnett. 1-2 from Young. Hard straight right by Young on the chin of Arnett. He’s marching down Young, who is landing some nice counter jabs. Low kick by Young. Hard straight right lands by Arnett. Young uses an overland left to get inside and get the clinch but Arnett breaks away. Straight left lands by Arnett, who is doing a good job of switching stances. Arnett is getting loose now and is gaining confidence as Young can’t hit him with anything. Body kick lands by Arnett. Young returns with a body kick of his own. Jab from Young. Arnett with a jab and Young returns with a hard left hook. He lands a right straight hand and then a left hook behind it. These are the best punches landed in the fight so far. Before he can do any more damage, the round is over.

They start off in the center of the Octagon once again. Young with a body kick. Overhand right lands by Young. Hard jab lands by Arnett. Young continues to stalk Young and lands a hard jab. Arnett is circling and landing counter straight rights. Hard low kick by Arnett has Young wincing, and he follows it up with a counter overhand right. Straight right lands by Young. Body kick lands by Young and Arnett returns with a jab. Young is spamming left hooks but can’t hit Arnett. Hard jab by Arnett, and a hard right cross. Young returns with a straight right of his own He has Arnett rocked now. Young is moving in landing hard right hands and throws in a high kick for good measure. Arnett is eating the punches but Young landed some hard ones. Now Arnett is landing hard punches on Young. The 10-second clapper rings and both guys are standing in the pocket landing straight rights before the round ends.

Round 3

The third round starts similar to the others with Young stalking Arnett and Arnett circling and landing counter punches. Young lands a hard body kick and a straight right. Hard right hook by Young. He’s stalking Arnett and landing some hard strikes but Arnett counters with a straight right. They are standing in the center of the Octagon and eating punches. Overhand right by Young. Arnett misses a high kick. Young lands a big uppercut. Young is now landing a combination of left hooks and straight rights and he’s pulling away with this fight now. Arnett misses a straight right and Young counters with one of his own. The 10-second capper rings and both men are standing in the pocket landing punches and Young lands a huge straight right that drops Arnett. Arnett falls to the floor and the bell rings and saves him.

Another low kick by Smith. He misses a right high kick. Smith lands a straight right but Ma partially blocks it. Another low kick lands by Smith. Hard jab by Smith. Low kick by Smith. Ma hasn’t landed anything the whole fight. Finally Ma lands a strike, a low kick. Another low kick by Kim and Smith counters with a jab and a lightning-fast straight right hand. Ma is hurt and Smith rushes in for the kill. He lands a hard left hook and then a straight right that stuns Ma. Another straight right sends Ma falling to the mat. Smith lands some heavy punches to his fallen opponent and Herb Dean rushes in and stops the fight.

Jim Crute vs. Sam Alvey

Round 1

The first fight to kick off the pay-per-view is a light heavyweight matchup between Sam Alvey and Jim Crute. Marc Goddard is the ref. Low kick from Crute lands, and he follows it up with a teep. Both men miss straight rights. Crute lands a right high kick that is partially blocked by Alvey. Another high kick is blocked. Chopping low kick by Crute. He then lands a straight right. Hard kick to the body by Crute. Alvey lands a left hook that is partially blocked. Crute returns with another body kick. Crute clips Alvey with a short right hook on the chin that drops him but for some reason lets him up instead of going for the kill. Alvey has regained his composure but Crute gets him back to the ground during a failed takedown attempt on a caught kick by Alvey. Crute is now landing heavy ground and pound on his rocked opponent and Goddard stops the fight. Alvey is livid and screaming at Goddard that he stopped the fight early.

Montana De La Rosa vs. Nadia Kassem

Round 1

Up next is a women’s flyweight bout between Nadia Kassem and Montana De La Rosa. The ref is Peter Hickmott. De La Rosa comes out spamming 1-2 combos and she pushes Kassem against the fence. Kassem falls over and De La Rosa is now on top of Kassem looking to pass the guard. She’s in half guard now and landing punches and elbows from the top. Kassem is working hard to get back into full guard but De La Rosa is putting so much pressure on her. De La Rosa has Kassem against the fence now and she’s raining down strikes. Kassem is finally able to regain guard but De La Rosa is still landing punches from the top. Kassem lands an elbow from the bottom. De La Rosa passes back into half guard and is still raining down punches to the head of Kassem, who finally gets back into full guard. Kassem sneaks back into half guard and is working to get into full guard. De La Rosa steps over into side control and now into north-south position. De La Rosa starts fishing for an omoplata during a scramble but doesn’t get it and the round is over.

Round 2

Right after the round starts De La Rosa lands a hard 1-2 and uses it to get inside. She gets Kassem into the clinch and uses a trip takedown to get the fight to the mat. De La Rosa is back in half guard raining down punches from the top. De LA Rosa is now in side control and has Kassem’s arm trapped. De La Rosa has now moved into full mount. She’s raining down nasty elbows and switches to an armbar. Kassem is able to scramble and get out of it temporarily. But De La Rosa now has Kassem in a triangle choke and she’s hurting her with elbows. De La Rosa reverses the position and is back in full mount with a triangle choke locked in and she’s raining down punches on Kassem. She switches for the armbar and finally gets the tapout due to verbal submission.

Rani Yahya vs. Ricky Simon

Round 1

It’s bantamweight action once against as Rani Yahya meets Ricky Simon. The third man in the cage is veteran official Steve Perceval. Yahya lands a high kick and Simon counters with a left hook. Yahya goes for another high kick and then tries to pull guard but Simon isn’t having any of it. Yahya is swinging wild hooks at Simon and catches him but Simon moves away. Jab from Yahya. Simon hits him with a right uppercut and Yahya briefly falls to the mat. Yahya dives in for an ugly single and Simon moves away. Yahya lands a kick to the body and then a straight right. But Simon catches Yahya with a straight right and Simon briefly follows him to the mat before letting him back up. A big left hook by Simon lands and Yahya falls again. Simon misses a flying knee. Yahya tries to pull guard but Simon isn’t having any of it. Simon lands a nasty right hook to the body. Uppercut from Simon and Yahya flops to the mat again. Simon lets him back up. Simon with a left hook, then a right cross. Smon steps in with a hard right uppercut to the body. Yahya shoots in for a double but Simon stuffs it. Yahya lands a low kick but Simon is still stalking him. Hard right hand by Simon and Yahya fails on another ugly takedown attempt. Simon level changes and lands a double leg of his own but refuses to enter the guard of Yahya. Right high kick lands by Simon. Yahya lands two low kicks, Simon slips away from a follow-up punch, and the round is over.

Round 2

Yahya is back to the low kicks. Simon counters with a straight right. Yahya throws an overhand right but Simon moves away and catches him with a counter straight right. Yahya lands a hard body kick. Yahya runs in for a double leg but Simon stuffs it. Yahya flops to the mat and Simon punishes him with kicks to the thighs. Yahya lands an overhand right. Simon lands one of his own. He stuffs another takedown attempt by Yahya. Simon has near his eye and the commentators note it came from a headbutt that the referee misses. Yahya catches Simon with a right uppercut and has Simon rocked. Simon is now on his bike and Yahya is trying to finish him. Yahya is chasing Simon and Simon knocks him down with his shoulder. Yahya is back to his feet and is surprisingly effective with his wild technique. Simon now lands with a left hook to the body. Simon stuffs another double leg by Yahya and this time follows him to the mat. Yahya lands an upkick to the face that appeared to be illegal but the ref misses it. Simon finishes the round on top raining down punches.

Round 3

Yahya pulls guard to start the round. Simon slips out of an armbar and lets Yahya back to his feet. Yahya lands a left high kick and then an overhand right. Simon lands a right hook. Yahya dives for a double leg takedown but Simon defends it nicely. He’s now on top of Yahya and throwing punches at his face but stands up when Yahya tries to grab him. Yahya has a visible cut on top of his head. Yahya shoots once again and once again Simon stuffs it. Simon is now really starting to tag Yahya with punches. He has Yahya backing up and bleeding. Simon ducks under and lands a double leg takedown. He’s on top of Yahya throwing punches. There’s a minute left in the fight and they are both pretty wet, making the odds of a late submission faint at this point. Simon finishes the round on top landing hard ground and pound and he should get the nod on the judges' scorecards.

Round 1

The co-main event is a lightweight bout between Lando Vannata and Marcos Rosa Mariano. The referee in charge of the action is Steve Perceval. Mariano starts with a right high kick and follows it up with a front kick. He lands a hard right roundhouse kick and Vannata returns with a calf kick. Vannata misses on an overhand right and Mariano lands a left high kick. Spinning back kick from Mariano lands and then a hard low kick. Vannata moves into the clinch and locks up a body lock takedown and completes it. Vannata is now on top of Mariano working in half guard and looking to pass into side control. He can’t pass and Mariano gets back into guard. Mariano lands a hard elbow off his back. Vannata returns with some heavy punches from the top. Vannata continues to land blows from the top. Vannata now lands a hard elbow and Mariano is covering up. More punches from Vannata. Mariano is getting tagged hard now and the referee is taking a closer look. In a scramble Vannata gets into north-south position. Vannata switches to a kimura and gets the tapout with just a few seconds left in the first round.

Israel Adesanya vs. Anderson Silva

Round 1

It’s finally time for the main event between middleweights Israel Adesanya and Anderson Silva. Keep in mind this fight is only scheduled for three rounds. The referee is the respected veteran Herb Dean. The two touch gloves. Silva comes out southpaw while Adesanya switches stances to start the fight. Low kick by Adesanya. It’s a minute in and Silva hasn’t attempted to throw a strike while Adesanya lands a couple low kicks. Silva with a low kick. Adesanya throws a high left hook kick that clips Silva. Both men are very tentative right now. Silva finally explodes. He lands a left hook on Silva. Adesanya lands a right hook and Silva is wobbled. Adesanya lands a left hook and Silva drops his hands. Hard right low kick by Adesanya. Silva misses a long straight left. Silva lands a right hook and stats chasing Adesanya. Dean stops the fight for some reason to make sure both guys have their mouth pieces in. Body kick by Silva lands. Adesanya lands a hard straight right. Both guys are staring each other down. Silva with a spinning back kick to the legs of Adesanya. Low kick by Adesanya. Now Adesanya just misses a right high kick as Silva slips away. Adesanya lands a straight right. Silva returns one of his own. Adesanya lands a right hook. The 10-second clapper sounds. Adesanya just misses a left high kick and the round is over.

Silva catches Adesanya with a hard straight right and has him hurt briefly but Adesanya moves away. Hard low kick by Adesanya, then a left hook. Silva lands a right uppercut. He has Adesanya in the clinch now but lets it go. Adesanya with another low kick. Spinning back kick to the legs by Silva. Now Adesanya throw a straight left but Silva lands a counter right hook. Silva starts chasing after Adesanya and throws punches at him. The 10-second clapper hits and both men stare at each other.

Adesanya connects on a left hook that touches Silva’s eye and he briefly moves away to call time, but Herb Dean says it was a punch and lets it continue. Adesanya lands a low kick that hurts Silva. Now Silva catches a kick and goes after Adesanya with a flying knee but he evades. Adesanya attempts a right high kick. Silva is up against the cage now with his hands down. Silva is refusing to move away from the fence and Adesanya isn’t throwing any strikes at him. Now Adesanya moves back into the center of the Octagon. Hard low kick by Adesanya lands. Another one. He just misses landing a question mark kick. Another low kick by Adesanya. Silva is bouncing around but not throwing any strikes.
