Max Griffin will welcome the unbeaten Zelim Imadaev to the Octagon at UFC 236.
ESPN was first to report the welterweight matchup. UFC 236 takes place at State Farm Arena in Atlanta on April 13 and is headlined by an interim lightweight title clash between reigning featherweight king Max Holloway and Dustin Poirier. In the co-main event, Kelvin Gastelum and Israel Adesanya will square off for the interim middleweight crown.
Griffin has suffered defeat in three of his last four promotional appearances. Most recently, Max “Pain” dropped a split decision to Thiago Alves at UFC Fight Night 144 on Feb. 2. The 33-year-old is 2-4 in UFC competition and 14-6 as a professional overall.
Imadaev, 24, has kicked off his professional tenure with eight straight KO/TKO triumphs. The Moscow native last appeared at Fight Nights Global 85, where he knocked out Ivan Gluhak in 13 seconds a little less than one year ago.
