UFC 241 Odds Show Cormier, Pettis as Favorites Over Miocic, Diaz

The ordering process for Ultimate Fighting Championship pay-per-views has changed: UFC 241 is only available on ESPN+ in the U.S.

Betting lines for UFC 241 show that heavyweight king Daniel Cormier is the favorite against Stipe Miocic, but bettors largely expect the fight will end by knockout one way or another.

On Friday, sportsbook BetOnline put out its fight lines on the UFC 241 card this weekend. This included favorites and underdogs for every fight of the night, as well as noteworthy prop bets for the main and co-main events. Former two-division champion Cormier sits as a -140 favorite in his rematch against Miocic (+120). In their first meeting, "DC" came in as the +132 underdog, springing the upset as he knocked out Miocic (-152) at UFC 226 last year.

In a few significant prop bets, the result of Cormier winning by knockout is +220, his adversary Miocic scoring the knockout at +200, and the fight simply ending by knockout as -180. The expectation is largely that the headliner will not reach the scorecards, with "Cormier vs. Miocic Goes the Distance" at +300. The most unlikely outcome predicted other than a draw is that Miocic taps out "DC," which is +2000. This is quite understandable, since Miocic has never won by submission, and Cormier has never lost in such a fashion while having five rear-naked choke victories to his credit.

In the co-headlining attraction, Anthony Pettis (-130) is a slight favorite over Nate Diaz (+110), although the lines have shifted multiple times since opening. The oddsmakers see the most likely outcome between these two welterweights that Pettis wins on the scorecards, drawing +170 odds on that prop bet. In contrast, "Showtime" by tapout (+1000) is the least likely of all ways for their fight to play out, according to the sportsbook. Many expect it to go all three rounds, with "Pettis vs. Diaz Goes the Distance" a -170 line with a comeback of +150 if it ends before the final bell. The biggest favorite on the card is Devonte Smith (-1000), who will be an overwhelming favorite as he takes on short notice debutant Khama Worthy (+700). With these odds, if Worthy managed to defeat Smith, he would earn the biggest betting upset of 2019 in the Ultimate Fighting Championship and one of the biggest in promotional history from a betting line perspective. Other sizable favorites include Sodiq Yusuff (-260) over Gabriel Benitez (+220) on the main card, and Hannah Cifers (-280) above Jodie Esquibel (+240) on the early preliminaries.
