Alex Oliveira will square off against Max Griffin in a welterweight scrap at UFC 248.
MMAjunkie.com was first to report the booking. UFC 248 takes place at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on March 7 and features a women’s strawweight title bout between Weili Zhang and Joanna Jedrzejczyk.
Oliveira will attempt to halt a three-bout skid when he faces Griffin. The Brazilian “Cowboy” began his UFC tenure with wins in nine of his first 13 fights but has since fallen to Gunnar Nelson, Mike Perry and Nicolas Dalby in consecutive outings. The 31-year-old fighter owns a 19-8-1 career mark.
Griffin, meanwhile, has lost three of his last four Octagon appearances. Most recently, the 34-year-old Californian fell to Alex Morono via unanimous decision at UFC Fight Night 161 on Oct. 12. Griffin is 3-5 in UFC competition and 15-7 as a professional overall.
