UFC 277 Weigh-in Results: Title Fights Set; 2 Fighters Heavy

The Ultimate Fighting Championship's second pay-per-view of July is good to go, as all UFC 277 championship participants made weight.

The card is headlined by the highly anticipated rematch between UFC women's bantamweight champ Julianna Pena and UFC women's featherweight titleholder Amanda Nunes. Both women had no issue making weight, as "Lioness" weighed 135 pounds on the dot, while the defending champion waited to practically the last minute only to clock in at 134.5 pounds. Additionally, both Brandon Moreno and Kai Kara France hit the scales at exactly 124.5 pounds for their interim flyweight title tilt.

However, the undercard did feature two notable weight misses. Joselyne Edwards came in 1.5 pounds overweight for her bantamweight bout against Ji Yeon Kim. Additionally, Orion Cosce weighed 172.5 pounds for his scheduled welterweight match against Mike Mathetha. Both fighters have been fined 20% of their purse, but the fights will otherwise continue as planned.

"The Venezuelan Vixen" shocked the mixed martial arts world late last year when she submitted Nunes via rear-naked choke. The win came after Pena (11-4) was winning the stand-up battle as well. Prior to the upset victory, Pena defeated Sara McMann with the same submission. Her last defeat came at the hands of Germaine de Randamie, who caught her in a guillotine choke submission.

Nunes' 12-fight winning streak came to a stunning close against Pena in her last outing. In her first defeat since 2014, Nunes (21-5) looked sluggish on the feet after failing to finish the fight early. The Brazilian will look to show a renewed spark in the rematch.

UFC 277's main card airs on ESPN+ pay-per-view starting at 10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT on Saturday. Prelims begin on UFC Fight Pass and ESPN+ at 6 p.m. ET/3 p.m. PT before transitioning to ABC, ESPN and ESPN+ at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT.
