UFC 280 Weigh-in Results: 2 Title Fights Official; 1 Fight Off

There was no trouble on the scales this time for Charles Oliveira.

The former Ultimate Fighting Championship lightweight champ successfully made weight for his UFC 280 showdown against Islam Makhachev. "Do Bronx" was first to the scales and weighed 154.5 pounds. This was a far cry from Oliveira's previous weigh-in, which saw the Brazilian lose his lightweight belt on the scale. Makhachev was next up and also weighed 154.5 pounds.

While Oliveira (33-8, 1 NC) was disgraced at the UFC 274 weigh-in, he impressed the night after by him impressively choking out Justin Gaethje in just over 3 minutes. The Brazilian is on an incredible 11-fight win streak that includes dramatic finishes over Dustin Poirier, Michael Chandler and Kevin Lee. Oliveira will look to reclaim the lightweight championship to start his second reign.

This marks a huge step up in competition for Makhachev (22-1). The Dagestani fighter has only suffered one defeat inside the Octagon, a 2015 loss to Adriano Martins via TKO. The Eagles MMA fighter has impressed since then, and most recently dominated Bobby Green and Dan Hooker to earn the title shot. Makhachev looks to make a statement in his first pay-per-view main event.

Bantamweight champ Aljamain Sterling and challenger T.J. Dillashaw both weighed 135 pounds, making two title fights official for the pay-per-view. Additionally, featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski weighed in at 155 pounds as an alternate.

As far as mishaps, Katlyn Chookagian missed the flyweight limit by 1.5 pounds and was fined 20% of her purse, and a featherweight bout between Zubaira Tukhugov and Lucas Almeida was scrapped due to medical issues for Tukhugov.

UFC 280 prelims begin on Saturday morning at 10 a.m. ET/7 a.m. PT on ESPNEWS and ESPN+. The main card then kicks off on ESPN+ pay-per-view at 2 p.m. ET/11 a.m. PT.
