Figueiredo (24-4-1) is also coming off a defeat as he was outpointed by Petr Yan in his last outing. The former flyweight king was also on a three-fight win streak as he dispatched Marlon Vera, Cody Garbrandt and Font. "Daico" is 37, so his window is closing if he wants to possibly become a two-weight champion. The Brazilian weighed 135 pounds on the dot for this pivotal fight.
UFC Des Moines will air live on ESPN+ and ESPN2 in its entirety. Prelims begin at 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT, while the main card kicks off at 10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT.
