Oskar Piechota vs. Tim Williams

Round 1

Williams circles to his right around the outside, hitting Piechota with a leg kick and a right hand in the opening minute. Piechota lands a hard right of his own, goes to the body of Williams with a long jab, then blocks a head kick. Williams scores with a combination that puts Piechota on his back foot. As the American tries to walk down his opponent, Piechota comes over the top with a bombing right hand that lands flush on Williams' jaw. Williams drops and clings to one of Piechota's legs, trying to prolong the fight, but after Piechota lands several heavy follow-up punches, referee Kerry Hatley calls an end to the bout.

The Official Result

Oskar Piechota def. Tim Williams via KO (Punches) R1 1:54

Joshua Burkman vs. Alex Morono

Round 1

The southpaw Burkman takes the center of the cage and sweeps away the incoming Morono with a nice counter left hand. Now it's Morono taking a turn in the middle, nearly chopping the lead leg out from underneath Burkman with a vicious kick to the knee. Burkman quickly switches stances to protect the leg but goes back to southpaw after taking a kick on the other leg. Morono misses with a right hand as Burkman steps inside, then crushes the veteran with a heavy left hook to the jaw. Burkman hits the deck, tries to get up and is snared in a tight guillotine. Morono jumps guard, wrapping up Burkman and forcing a quick tap.

The Official Result

Alex Morono def. Joshua Burkman via Submission (Guillotine Choke) R1 2:12

Sarah Moras vs. Lucie Pudilova

Round 1

Pudilova crouches low and sticks a long jab in the face of Moras, who returns fire with a left high kick that stuns the rangy Czech. The stumbling Pudilova grabs hold of Moras to slow the pace, but it's "Cheesecake" scoring the takedown. The second minute of the round sees Moras landing some heavy ground-and-pound from Pudilova's closed guard. Moras pushes Pudilova's head against the fence, where the Canadian postures up and lays an elbow across the face of the grounded fighter. Moras thumps the body of Pudilova with left hands as they fight on the mat right in front of the Czech corner. Moras stands and tries to advance her position, but Pudilova shifts to keep her in guard. Referee Jacob Montalvo orders the fighters to stand, a decision that's jeered by the Texas crowd. As soon as they're restarted -- near the fence, not in the center of the cage -- Pudilova tags Moras with a heavy right hand, then another. Moras throws a low kick and is decked by a straight right counter. As Pudilova pounces on her fallen opponent, Moras throws up an armbar. The sub looks tight, but Pudilova stands up and shakes Moras until her arm comes loose. Pudilova begins unloading with hammerfists and elbows in the final 10 seconds, nearly forcing a stoppage before the horn.

Sherdog Scores

Tristen Critchfield scores the round 10-9 Pudilova
Brian Knapp scores the round 10-9 Moras
Chris Nelson scores the round 10-9 Pudilova

Round 2

Pudilova begins scoring with her right hand early in round two, forcing Moras to shoot for an early takedown. Pudilova stuffs the attempt, but Moras sucks her into guard and immediately applies another armbar attempt. Pudilova lifts and slams Moras, freeing her right arm from the armbar, though the hand remains trapped between Moras' legs. Pudilova yanks the arm free, stuffs an attempt from Moras to drive forward, and now winds up in side control. Moras recovers guard, tries another armbar but can't get it. Pudilova stands, tries to come down in side control and eats an upkick. Moras tries an inverted triangle choke, briefly switches to leg scissors, and now Pudilova pulls free of danger completely. Pudilova stands with 45 seconds left and allows Moras to do the same. Just before the horn, Pudilova floors Moras with another straight right hand counter to a low kick.

Sherdog Scores

Tristen Critchfield scores the round 10-9 Pudilova
Brian Knapp scores the round 10-9 Pudilova
Chris Nelson scores the round 10-9 Pudilova

Round 3

Pudilova seems to be the fresher fighter as the final frame begins, bouncing around in front of Moras while the Canadian takes heavy steps forward. Moras shoots a single, can't get anything and pulls guard again; this time, Pudilova doesn't follow and tells Moras to get up. Moras continues to eat hard jabs, bloodying her nose and mouth, her left eye badly swollen. Halfway through the final round, this looks to be Pudilova's fight to lose as the Czech fighter continues to pick her shots and land at will. Moras drops for a single-leg and, after a struggle, takes down Pudilova in the center of the cage with 80 seconds left. Pudilova throws up a triangle from the bottom but Moras is never really in danger before breaking up the sub attempt. Pudilova sweeps to top position just before the horn, denying a last-ditch armbar attempt from Moras.

Sherdog Scores

Tristen Critchfield scores the round 10-9 Pudilova (30-27 Pudilova)
Brian Knapp scores the round 10-9 Pudilova (29-28 Pudilova)
Chris Nelson scores the round 10-9 Pudilova (30-27 Pudilova)

The Official Result

Lucie Pudilova def. Sarah Moras via Unanimous Decision (29-27, 29-28, 29-28) R3 5:00

Joby Sanchez vs. Roberto Sanchez

Round 1

Joby Sanchez fires off a body kick that lands but is caught by Roberto Sanchez, who converts it for an early takedown. Joby stands up, but Roberto has attached himself to the back of the Jackson-Wink MMA fighter. Roberto secures the position with a body triangle and begins hunting for a rear-naked choke, his left arm around his opponent's neck. Joby drops to his back and peels at Roberto's hands, trying to break up the choke. Roberto has the RNC cinched up tight, and soon Joby has no choice but to tap out.

The Official Result

Roberto Sanchez def. Joby Sanchez via Submission (Rear-Naked Choke) R1 1:50

Brian Camozzi vs. Geoff Neal

Round 1

Both fighters connect with hard, straight punches in the first 30 seconds, but the pace slows when Neal digs an underhook and presses Camozzi against the fence. Camozzi spins to the outside and circles to the center; Neal comes straight after the rangy "Mantis" and soon zaps him with another blasting right hand. Camozzi looks to snare Neal's neck as they fight on the fence again, and now the welterweights separate to continue striking. Camozzi scores with a leg kick, has a left high kick blocked by Neal's right glove. Camozzi has a visible reach advantage, but it's Neal doing better work on the feet with his more precise, compact punches. Shoving Camozzi against the fence, Neal rides the striker down to his knees, then slaps on a no-hooks rear-naked choke. Camozzi is trapped and has to tap out in a hurry.

The Official Result

Geoff Neal def. Brian Camozzi via Submission (Rear-Naked Choke) R1 2:48

Carlos Diego Ferreira vs. Jared Gordon

Round 1

Ferreira pushes forward early with jabs and inside leg kicks, including one which lands on Gordon's cup with an audible thud. Referee Dan Miragliotta pauses the action, but Gordon only wants a few seconds to recover. When the fight resumes, Ferreira continues walking forward, pressuring Gordon with busy punches and low kicks. Another kick inside from Ferreira strays to the groin, and again Gordon needs a moment to compose himself. Referee Miragliotta tells Ferreira to control his kicks or risk losing a point on the next foul. Still in the second minute of the fight, Gordon ties up and tries a trip, but Ferreira keeps his balance and continues to throw a diverse barrage of strikes. Gordon is dropped by a short left hook to the jaw, and Ferreira pounces right on his fallen foe. Stepping over to mount, Ferreira locks up the left arm of Gordon by the wrist and twists it behind his back, allowing the Brazilian to land unfettered punches to the face until Gordon slumps forward and referee Miragliotta stops the fight.

The Official Result

Carlos Diego Ferreira def. Jared Gordon via TKO (Punches) R1 1:58

Sage Northcutt vs. Thibault Gouti

Round 1

Northcutt scores with a long left hand as he steps backward toward the fence, pressured by Gouti as the Frenchman works from the center. Northcutt changes levels and scores a quick takedown, planting Gouti on his back in the middle of the cage. "Super Sage" works from side control on Gouti's left side, peppering with short punches while Gouti tries to wrap up from underneath. Northcutt leans across to frame up a kimura, but Gouti bucks and rolls to escape the submission. Northcutt stands to avoid an armbar attempt, then comes back to the ground with a hard right hand. Northcutt tries to take the back of Gouti but can't maintain the position as the Frenchman stands. Gouti brings the pressure again, and this time he drops Northcutt to his knees with a right hand. Gouti catches the dazed Northcutt in a 10-finger guillotine and shoves him against the wall, where Northcutt is able to pop his head free. Gouti stays glued to Northcutt's legs, searching for a takedown as they enter the final two minutes of round one. The lightweights come back to the center, Northcutt sporting a cut on the outside of his right eye. The karate stylist whiffs on a spinning kick, then puts a long punch in Gouti's breadbasket. The action slows in the last minute; Northcutt shoots for a late takedown and is denied by Gouti.

Sherdog Scores

Tristen Critchfield scores the round 10-9 Gouti
Brian Knapp scores the round 10-9 Northcutt
Chris Nelson scores the round 10-9 Northcutt

Round 2

Gouti comes forward again at the start of the second, backing up Northcutt with jabs and leg kicks. Northcutt gets backed up against the fence, where Gouti is able to tag him with a pair of left hands. Northcutt comes back to the middle but soond finds himself backing up again, and this time Gouti makes him pay with a lunging right hand. Northcutt's head snaps back as he falls to the ground; Gouti follows him to the floor and sets up in the Team Alpha Male fighter's deep half guard. Gouti triangles the legs of Northcutt as he tries to move to mount, but Northcutt is sitting up against the fence. Northcutt works back to his feet at the midway point of the round, still held against the cage. Gouti secures another takedown and again triangles Northcutt's legs. Northcutt posts but can't stand this time, and the Texas crowd boos as Gouti continues to control the local favorite on the ground. Northcutt powers back to his feet with one minute left, and now referee Kerry Hatley resets the fighters in the center. Northcutt lands a few counters off his back foot but is once again pressured backward to the wall.

Sherdog Scores

Tristen Critchfield scores the round 10-9 Gouti
Brian Knapp scores the round 10-9 Gouti
Chris Nelson scores the round 10-9 Gouti

Round 3

Northcutt lands a left high kick and Gouti comes away looking at referee Hatley, pointing at his right eye. Hatley grants Gouti a moment to recover from an apparent foul. When action resumes, Northcutt starts stomping at Gouti's thighs, his left hand outstretched as he waits for the Frenchman to throw something for him to counter. Gouti keeps the pressure on and takes down Northcutt with a double-leg at the fence. The lightweights wind up in their familiar position, with Northcutt sitting up against the cage and Gouti wrapped around his legs, trying to keep him grounded. Northcutt posts and stands, gets double-legged back to the mat, posts and stands again. Halfway through the final round, Gouti dumps "Super Sage" with yet another double-leg. Northcutt lands short elbows to the side of Gouti's head on the ground, while Gouti just keeps his hands glued to Northcutt's legs, trying to maintain the position. Northcutt jumps back to his feet with 85 seconds left to fight; 10 seconds later, referee Hatley restarts the fighters in the center. Gouti presses forward, takes a couple leg kicks from Northcutt, then denies a long-distance double-leg from the youngster. Northcutt runs Gouti against the fence and gives him a slashing elbow to the face. Northcutt lands a straight right, shoots again but still can't get anything behind his takedown attempts.

Sherdog Scores

Tristen Critchfield scores the round 10-9 Northcutt (29-28 Gouti)
Brian Knapp scores the round 10-9 Northcutt (29-28 Northcutt)

Brandon Davis vs. Steven Peterson

Round 1

Peterson comes charging forward at the horn, but it's Davis landing combinations off his back foot as he slides toward the fence. Peterson is sporting a cut under his right eye after 30 seconds, now nearly has his lead leg kicked out by Davis with a hard chop. Davis is firing some big uppercuts, narrowly missing as he steps into the pocket. Peterson lands a few punches from range but Davis continues to win the battle of volume. Davis rocks Peterson's head with a right hand counter, then the featherweights trade nasty low kicks. Peterson adds a kick to the body; Davis jumps into the pocket with a right hand, angles out to his left before Peterson can counter. Peterson keeps coming forward but is only walking into leg kicks and counters, still having trouble finding his range against the Alan Belcher pupil.

Sherdog Scores

Tristen Critchfield scores the round 10-9 Davis
Brian Knapp scores the round 10-9 Davis
Chris Nelson scores the round 10-9 Davis

Round 2

It's more of the same as round two begins, with Peterson marching forward, trying to establish his striking, but instead walking into counters from Davis. The lightweights go toe-to-toe in the center, where Peterson whiffs on a combination and eats a hard one-two in return. Peterson checks a leg kick and tries to swarm Davis, but again the Mississippi native has the slicker boxing, using great head movement to avoid Peterson's punches and then dinging "Ocho" with well-timed counters. Peterson denies a Davis takedown attempt, digs an underhook and shoves him against the fence. Peterson jumps on Davis' back, but Davis leands forward and shakes Peterson off, escaping out the backdoot. Peterson throws up an armbar from his back, nothing doing, so he comes back to his feet. The featherweights continues to fight on the fence with 90 seconds to go. Peterson looks for a trip takedown with a bodylock, but Davis keeps his balance. Finally, Peterson completes the takedown with 30 seconds left and lands a few punches to the body before the horn.

Sherdog Scores

Tristen Critchfield scores the round 10-9 Davis
Brian Knapp scores the round 10-9 Peterson
Chris Nelson scores the round 10-9 Peterson

Round 3

Peterson lands an early right hand, but his head is rattled around by a Davis combination seconds later. Davis denies a takedown attempt, eats a jab from Peterson and smiles at the Texan. Peterson is doing much better on the feet now that Davis has slowed down, landing his reaching combinations as Davis' head movement and footwork drop off. Halfway through the final round, it's Peterson coming forward, a cut on his forehead leaking blood down his face. Davis blocks a takedown attempt, rocks Peterson's head again with a left hand. Though no longer as fresh, Davis continues to land some hard right-handed counters. Suddenly, Davis catches Peterson leaning and zaps him with a massive knee to the jaw. Peterson is wobbling around, barely standing as Davis batters him with a pair of punches, now another nasty knee. The second knee seems to have woken Peterson back up, but Davis does his best to change that with a head kick. Peterson comes shooting in the final seconds, tries to jump on Davis' back but runs out of time.

Sherdog Scores

Tristen Critchfield scores the round 10-9 Davis (30-27 Davis)
Brian Knapp scores the round 10-9 Davis (29-28 Davis)

Thiago Alves vs. Curtis Millender

Round 1

Alves circles to his right around the outside while the taller Millender follows from the center, neither man committing to any big strikes in the opening minute. Millender backs up Alves near the fence but still doesn't let go of his hands. The next time Alves is against the wall, Millender leaps at him and lands a knee to the Brazilian's body. A hard spinning kick bounces off Alves' chest, then a long jab touches his face as he tries to kick at Millender's lead leg. A left hand from Millender sends Alves staggering backward, but "Pitbull" recovers quickly and resumes his circling around the outside. Alves is throwing combinations but can't quite find the mark on the taller, longer man. Millender scores a knockdown with a straight right hand; Alves gets up, wobbles backward to the fence and is dropped again. Millender raises his arms and begins to stroll away before realizing that ref Jacob Montalvo isn't stopping the fight. Alves somehow recovers from the scare enough to finish the round with a takedown.

Sherdog Scores

Tristen Critchfield scores the round 10-8 Millender
Brian Knapp scores the round 10-8 Millender
Chris Nelson scores the round 10-8 Millender

Round 2

Alves connects with a few jabs and body kicks in the opening minute but is still struggling to land steadily on the long, elusive Millender. "Curtious" is absorbing a lot of kicks early in the second stanza, causing him to switch between stances. Alves chops at Millender with another nasty low kick, takes a long right hand to the breadbasket in return. Millender's outstretched arms are doing well to keep Alves at bay and block many of the Brazilian's punches. Alves charges forward, eats a jab-cross, but delivers a low kick that leaves Millender limping away. Alves is going heavy on the leg kicks here in the late going of round two. "Pitbull" steps into the pocket with his right hand low and is made to pay immediately, as Millender blows up Alves' spot with a high knee to the jaw. Millender strolls off again, and this time he's right; referee Montalvo takes one look at the barely-conscious Alves and signals that the fight is over.

The Official Result

Curtis Millender def. Thiago Alves via KO (Knee) R2 4:17

James Vick vs. Francisco Trinaldo

Round 1

The lightweights trade body kicks in the first 40 seconds, then Vick appears to partially land on a foot-to-face high kick. Trinaldo gets pushed back by a straight right hand, then comes back at Vick to wrap up the larger man against the fence. Vick breaks free, now 90 seconds into the bout, and touches "Massaranduba" with another right hand. Trinaldo tries to come over the top with a windmilling counter left but can't find the mark. Vick lands the right again and stuns Trinaldo near the fence. Vick tries to catch Trinaldo in a choke, but it's Trinaldo turning the tables with a desperation takedown. Vick stands up, Trinaldo wraps up a guillotine of his own and jumps guard on the "Texecutioner." Vick gives a thumbs up to referee Kerry Hatley, now passes to side control and gets back to his feet. Trinaldo gets up, too, and is greeted by a knee to the face. There are 70 seconds left in what has been a very busy opening round, and Vick looks like he'd like to finish things here and now. Vick stomps forward on the smaller man with kicks to the legs and body, now another long right hand to the chin. Trinaldo is once again left swinging at air with his counter.

Sherdog Scores

Tristen Critchfield scores the round 10-9 Vick
Brian Knapp scores the round 10-9 Vick
Chris Nelson scores the round 10-9 Vick

Round 2

Trinaldo catches Vick leaping at him with a knee and catches the Texan with a big left hand over the top. Vick seems unfazed as he steps forward on Trinaldo with a kick to the body, now one to the head. Trinaldo shoots inside, gets a rear waistlock and dumps Vick to the ground, but the "Texecutioner" is quickly back on his feet. Vick trips Trinaldo to the floor, the lightweights wind up in the whizzer, and now they separate with 3:30 on the clock. Trinaldo eats another right high kick and walks forward on Vick with hands by his waist. Vick cuts angles around the outside, keeping Trinaldo at bay with a variety of kicks. Trinaldo is trying to make something happen but still can't get inside to strike on the enormous 155er.

Sherdog Scores

Tristen Critchfield scores the round 10-9 Vick
Brian Knapp scores the round 10-9 Vick
Chris Nelson scores the round 10-9 Vick

Round 3

Trinaldo is aggressive as the final round begins, marching straight forward on Vick, who continues to evade the shorter man by circling along the edge of the fence. "Massaranduba" connects with a body kick, then another which Vick catches; the Brazilian yanks the leg back before Vick can do anything. Vick scores with a step-in knee to the midsection, slides off to the left before Trinaldo can throw his looping counter. Trinaldo tries to get inside and instead is pushed away by a pair of side kicks to the chest. The fight has fallen into a bit of a lull, with Vick circling the outside, seemingly secure in his chances to win a decision, and Trinaldo still not really committing to any prolonged attacks, despite an almost certain deficit on the scorecards. Trinaldo eats a right high kick, fires back with a left hand for Vick's breadbasket. Trinaldo gets the last word with a left high kick that slaps Vick's face just before the horn.

Sherdog Scores

Tristen Critchfield scores the round 10-10 (30-28 Vick)
Brian Knapp scores the round 10-9 Trinaldo (29-28 Vick)

Derrick Lewis vs. Marcin Tybura

Round 1

Lewis counters the first low kick from Tybura with a blasting left hand, and the Polish fighter drops to his back in the center of the cage. Lewis comes down in side control, but Tybura quickly puts him in half guard, then begins working for a leglock. Lewis gets twisted up but finds himself sitting atop Tybura in a bizarre position. Lewis hops off to side control, but Tybura rolls to his knees and drives forward on a single-leg. The heavyweights climb back to their feet, but Lewis stumbles as he backs up and Tybura capitalizes on the mistake, running the "Black Beast" to the ground. Tybura comes down to full mount, but Lewis bucks him off and the big men stand again. Tybura tries to come forward and gets dropped by Lewis with a straight right. Tybura is in deep trouble, eating heavy punches on the floor while trying to wrap up Lewis in half guard. It's only a few seconds before Tybura hits a sweep and winds up on top in Lewis' half guard. Tybura seems to be hunting for an arm-triangle on the opposite side as he leans across Lewis' body with 70 seconds on the clock. Instead, Tybura postures up to drop some short, grinding elbows on Lewis' face. Tybura takes full mount again with 15 seconds left and finishes the round attempting a kimura.

Sherdog Scores

Tristen Critchfield scores the round 10-9 Lewis
Brian Knapp scores the round 10-9 Lewis
Chris Nelson scores the round 10-9 Lewis

Round 2

Tybura uses kicks on Lewis at the start of round two, picking first at the legs and then the body of Lewis. After a minute, the "Black Beast" comes alive with some power punches that back up Tybura to the fence. The Polish fighter reverses course, driving forward to score an easy takedown that puts Lewis on his back in center cage. Tybura works from cross-side control on Lewis' left, landing knees to the body that force Lewis to roll over. Tybura takes the back, but he's riding high as Lewis tripods up and tries to shake him off. Tybura stays glued to the back with both hooks set, with half the round left to fight. Lewis stands again, hands on the ground in front of him, trying to shake Tybura off his back. Tybura winds up in full mount as Lewis is flattened out on his back again. One minute remains as Tybura continues to absolutely style on Lewis on the mat. Lewis is just trying to cling on from the bottom, but Tybura stays busy enough to prevent a stand-up command from referee Dan Miragliotta.

Sherdog Scores

Tristen Critchfield scores the round 10-9 Tybura
Brian Knapp scores the round 10-9 Tybura
Chris Nelson scores the round 10-9 Tybura

Round 3

After a slow opening minute which sees Tybura in the center, following an exhausted Lewis around the outside, the "Black Beast" connects with a ripping right hand. Tybura wears it well and shoots on Lewis' hips, running him against the wall for a clinch which lasts through the second minute. The heavyweights trade body shots in the clinch, and now Tybura commits to a takedown attempt with a high single. Tybura drops to his knees, switching to a double, but Lewis shuts this down with underhooks. Lewis reverses to the outside, leaving Tybura against the fence, and the Texan drops "Tybur" with a crushing right hand to the jaw. Tybura is in a daze, clinging to a leg, and Lewis appears to turn out his lights with three or four follow-up punches. That's all referee Kerry Hatley needs to see, and the Texas crowd goes wild as local favorite Lewis scores a come-from-behind knockout.

The Official Result

Derrick Lewis def. Marcin Tybura via KO (Punches) R3 2:48

Donald Cerrone vs. Yancy Medeiros

Round 1

Veteran referee Herb Dean is the third man in the cage for tonight's 170-pound main event, with judges Chris Lee, Marcos Rosales and Nick Wright scoring the bout for the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. The welterweights have a friendly hug and a handshake during final instructions, but as soon as the fight begins, Medeiros is swinging for the fences with a big left hand over the top. Cerrone denies Medeiros' first attempt to tie up, so Medeiros spins around with a kick to the right flank of "Cowboy." Medeiros comes over the top with a right hand, gets a kick to the body on the other side. Medeiros switches between stances, taking a few kicks to the body when he stays orthodox for too long. Cerrone pops Medeiros with a hard jab, takes an even harder shot in return, and now Medeiros bites down on his mouthpiece and marches forward. Just when it looks like Cerrone could be overwhelmed by the volume, he drops Medeiros with a right hook counter. Medeiros springs back to his feet with a smile on his face, and the welterweights hug again. Cerrone scores a second knockdown with a counter left, but again Medeiros is quick to stand up. Medeiros slides forward, now sporting a cut underneath his right eye, and shuts down a takedown attempt from "Cowboy." The fighters wind up clinching on the fence with one minute left in the round, Medeiros spinning to the outside with an underhook. Cerrone breaks free and tags Medeiros with a four-piece combination. Just after the 10-second warning, Cerrone rocks Medeiros with a right hand to the jaw. Medeiros hits the deck in the center of the cage, Cerrone standing over him, gunning for the finish. Medeiros' head is rattling around as Cerrone connects with follow-up punches, and referee Dean decides that's enough. Donald Cerrone snaps a three-fight losing skid with a buzzer-beater knockout of Yancy Medeiros.

The Official Result

Donald Cerrone def. Yancy Medeiros via TKO (Punches) R1 4:58
