UFC Fight Night 171 Weigh-in Results: Main Event Official; Roberson Misses Weight

  The Ultimate Fighting Championship will host a rare Wednesday night event. Headlining UFC Fight Night 171 is an important light heavyweight tussle between contenders Anthony Smith and Glover Teixeira.

The card is now official as all fighters have weighed in. All fighters made weight except for Karl Roberson (187.5 pounds), who came in 1.5 pounds heavy for his middleweight bout against Marvin Vettori (186). Roberson has been fined 20 percent of his purse, which will be given to Vettori.

Smith (205) will be looking to earn another crack at Jon Jones’ belt. Since coming up short against the current 205-pound champion, “Lionheart” submitted Alexander Gustafsson via rear-naked choke. The Nebraskan looked great on the scales and came in at 205 pounds on the dot.

Teixeira (205.5) is another one of Jones’ past victims and has impressed in his last three fights. After submitting both Roberson and Ion Cutelaba, the 40-year-old won a split decision over Nikita Krylov. The veteran Brazilian looked solid on the scales at 205.5 pounds and will want to make the most out of what could be his last run at title contention.

UFC Fight Night 171 kicks off at 6 p.m. ET exclusively on ESPN+. The main card will start at 9 p.m. ET.
