Ultimate Fighting Championship flyweight Ji Yeon Kim may have suffered more than just a loss at UFC Fight Night 175.

Main card participant Kim dropped a unanimous decision to Alexa Grasso earlier on the card, and she may have broken her right orbital bone in the process. Absorbing 51 blows to the head caused a potential fracture, although Kim can be cleared by an oral and maxillofacial surgeon or an ophthalmologist to return sooner. The earliest Kim can return to action is in 45 days, and the South Korean known as “Fire Fist” is suspended from all contact for a month regardless of the result.
Two other competitors throughout the evening may also be staring
down the barrel of six-month suspensions: Polyana
Viana and Mallory
Martin. Although Viana tapped Emily
Whitmire with an armbar early in the match, she has suffered
injuries to her right thumb and right foot that will require an MRI
and an x-ray, respectively. Mallory
Martin also finished Hannah
Cifers in their bout with a rear-naked choke in the second
round, but possibly injured her right knee and needs an MRI to get
clearance to compete again. Viana will be suspended for a minimum
of one month, while Martin is receiving a mandatory a two-month
layoff.
