UFC Fight Night 188 Medical Suspensions: Rob Font Facing Possible 6-Month Term

Rob Font put on a striking clinic against Cody Garbrandt in the UFC Fight Night 188 headliner, but the Boston native could be sidelined for some time following their bantamweight bout.

Font needs X-rays on his right tibia/fibula, ankle and foot and doctor clearance or he will be sidelined until Nov. 19. At a minimum, he is suspended until June 22 with no contact until June 13. Garbrandt, meanwhile, is suspended until July 22 with no contact until July 7.

The Nevada Athletic Commission recently released a full list of medical suspensions from the event to mixedmartialarts.com. UFC Fight Night 188 took place at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas and saw Font defeat Garbrandt via unanimous decision in the evening’s main event.

Six other athletes from UFC Fight Night 188 are facing potential six-month terms: Justin Tafa (left hand), Felicia Spencer (right knee), Ricardo Ramos (right wrist, right ankle), Chris Barnett (right knee), Bruno Silva (right hand) and Neurdanbieke Shayilan (facial fractures).

Felicia Spencer: must have right knee MRI, if positive must have orthopedic doctor clearance or no contest until 11/19/21; minimum suspension no contest until 6/13/21, no contact until 6/6/21

Ricardo Ramos: must have right wrist MRI and right ankle X-ray, if positive must have orthopedic doctor clearance or no contest until 11/19/21; minimum suspension no contest until 6/13/21, no contact until 6/6/21

Jack Hermansson: suspended until 6/22/21, no contact until 6/13/21 — hard fight

Edmen Shahbazyan: suspended until 7/7/21, no contact until 6/22/21 — facial lacerations around both eyebrows
