MMA DNA and MMA Fighting were the first to report the news that Zviad Lazishvili has suffered an ankle injury and has been forced out of his bantamweight match against Jack Shore (14-0). In his stead at UFC Fight Night 191 will be Liudvik Sholinian (9-1-1), who is in turn the second replacement for Said Nurmagomedov. The portion of the report that claimed that Lazishvili has been released from the promotion altogether has been disputed, while the news of this booking itself has been subsequently confirmed by the promotion.

The unbeaten Shore, with a high finish rate of 86 percent, has rattled off three victories inside the Octagon since signing in 2019. A pair of rear-naked chokes of Nohelin Hernandez and Aaron Phillips led to a scrap with Hunter Azure in April. In that tilt, the Welshman went the distance for just the second time in his pro career. A submission artist by trade, the ex-Cage Warriors Fighting Championship champ has recorded seven of his eight career tapouts by rear-naked choke.

Although he competed on his season of TUF and took a decision over top pick Mitch Raposo, Sholinian’s last pro bout came in 2019. The once-beaten Ukrainian’s lone defeat came under the Bellator MMA banner, and he rebounded by winning four times, with a notable victory over future UFC rostermate Vince Cachero in the Legacy Fighting Alliance cage.

In addition to the news of Lazishvili’s withdrawal, Sergey Khandozhko will no longer be facing David Zawada at this fight card. Like the aforementioned withdrawal news, the fight booking change was first reported by MMA DNA. Alex Morono will be stepping in to take on Zawada, and the organization also confirmed this switch as well.

UFC Fight Night 191 has seen its fair share of structural changes, include a relocation from London to Las Vegas due to the coronavirus pandemic. The marquee matchup on this Sept. 4 card is a middleweight battle between Derek Brunson and Darren Till. Drawing the co-main assignment is a heavyweight rumble between Tom Aspinall and Sergei Pavlovich, while Ariane Lipski vs. Mandy Bohm at flyweight will serve as the featured fight on the card.
