UFC Fight Night 193 Medical Suspensions: Santos, Walker Both Facing 6-Month Terms



While the UFC Fight Night 193 main event was short on action, both Thiago Santos and Johnny Walker are facing potentially lengthy medical suspensions following their light heavyweight bout.

Santos defeated Walker via unanimous decision in a lackluster five-round fight this past Saturday at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. Santos needs X-rays on his left ring finger, left foot, left knee and left ribs and then must receive medical clearance or he will be sidelined until April 1. At a minimum, “Marreta” is suspended until Nov. 2 with no contact until Oct. 24. Walker, meanwhile, needs an X-ray on his left foot and must receive medical clearance or he is out until April 1. At a minimum, Walker is suspended until Nov. 2 with no contact until Oct. 24.

The Nevada State Athletic Commission released a full list of medical suspensions from the event to mixedmartialarts.com.

Four other athletes from UFC Fight Night 193 are facing potential six-month terms: Niko Price (left knee), Krzysztof Jotko (left foot), Devonte Smith (right orbital fracture), Johnny Eduardo (right orbital fracture).

UFC Fight Night 193 Medical Suspensions:

Thiago Santos: Must have X-rays on left ring finger, left foot, left knee and left ribs. If positive, must receive clearance from orthopedic doctor or no contest until April 1. Minimum suspension no contest until Nov. 2, no contact until Oct. 24

Johnny Walker: Must have X-ray on left foot. If positive, must receive clearance from orthopedic doctor or no contest until April 1. Minimum suspension no contest until Nov. 2, no contact until Oct. 24

Kevin Holland: Suspended until Nov. 2, no contact until Oct. 24 — lower lip laceration

Niko Price: Must have X-ray on left knee. If positive, must receive clearance from orthopedic doctor or no contest until April 1. Minimum suspension no contest until Oct. 24, no contact until Oct. 17 — left eyebrow laceration

Alex Oliveira: Suspended until Nov. 2, no contact until Oct. 24

Krzysztof Jotko: Must have X-ray on left foot. If positive, must receive clearance from orthopedic doctor or no contest until April 1. Minimum suspension no contest until Oct. 24, no contact until Oct. 17

Misha Cirkunov: Suspended until Nov. 2, no contact until Oct. 24

Mike Breeden: Suspended until Nov. 17, no contact until Nov. 2

Jared Gordon: Suspended until Oct. 24, no contact until Oct. 17 — head laceration

Joe Solecki: Suspended until Nov. 2, no contact until Oct. 24 — forehead laceration

Antonina Shevchenko: Suspended until Nov. 17, no contact until Nov. 2 — multiple facial abrasions

Bethe Correia: Suspended until Nov. 17, no contact until Nov. 2

Jamie Mullarkey: Suspended until Nov. 2, no contact until Oct. 24 - chipped tooth

Devonte Smith: Must receive clearance from ophthalmologist or ENT (ear, nose, and throat) doctor for right orbital fracture or no contest until April 1. Minimum suspension no contest until Nov. 17, no contact until Nov. 2

Gaetano Pirrello: Suspended until Nov. 17, no contact until Nov. 2

Shanna Young: Suspended until Oct. 24, no contact until Oct. 17

Alejandro Perez: Suspended until Nov. 2, no contact until Oct. 24 — forehead laceration

Johnny Eduardo: Must receive clearance from ENT doctor for right orbital fracture or no contest until April 1. Minimum suspension no contest until Oct. 24, no contact until Oct. 17
