UFC Fight Night Berlin Bonuses: Mousasi, Dollaway, Backstrom, Cedenblad Each Earn S50K

Gegard Mousasi was absolutely dominant against Mark Munoz at UFC Fight Night “Munoz vs. Mousasi” in Berlin on Saturday -- and he has the bonus check to prove it.

Mousasi earned a $50,000 “Performance of the Night” bonus for his first-round rear-naked choke of Munoz in their middleweight clash. The former Strikeforce champion thwarted Munoz’s wrestling at every turn, stuffing takedowns and advancing into dominant positions repeatedly. Eventually, “The Dreamcatcher” was able to take the former two-time NCAA All-American wrestler’s back and elicit the tapout at the 3:57 mark of the opening frame.

C.B. Dollaway pocketed a $50,000 “Performance of the Night” award for his triumph over Francis Carmont in the evening’s 185-pound co-feature. The two fighters taunted one another and traded on the feet in the early going, but Dollaway would seize momentum by dropping his foe with a left hook. From there, the Power MMA Team member gradually wore Carmont down with his superior wrestling over the final two frames to capture a unanimous decision.

Elsewhere, Cage Warriors Fighting Championship veteran Niklas Backstrom captured a $50,000 performance bonus for his submission of Tom Niinimaki at featherweight, while Magnus Cedenblad garnered the final $50,000 award after tapping Krzysztof Jotko with a guillotine choke. No “Fight of the Night” bonus was given.
