Gilbert Burns, Godofredo Castro, Edimilson Souza and Freddy Serrano earned $50,000 bonuses for their performances at Saturday’s UFC Fight Night “Maia vs. LaFlare.”

This marks the fourth consecutive UFC event that has produced four “Performance of the Night” bonuses and no “Fight of the Night” award. The Fox Sports 1-televised card took place at Maracanazinho Gymnasium in Rio de Janeiro and featured a main event of Demian Maia against Ryan LaFlare.

Burns was on his way to losing against Octagon newcomer Alex Oliveira before “Durinho” slapped on an armbar and forced Oliveira to tap. With the win, Burns picked up a $50,000 award and remained undefeated in his mixed martial arts career.

Castro used a flying triangle to set up his eventual submission of Andre Fili, and “Pepey” earned $50,000 for his efforts. Fili tried to wiggle free from the submission, but Castro cinched it at 3:14 of round one to force the tap. The 27-year-old has now notched three straight first-round finishes.

Souza used a devastating punch to put an end to Katsunori Kikuno’s night, winning his 10th straight bout in the process. The right hand crumpled Kikuno face-first to the mat, where Souza followed up with hammerfists for good measure.

Serrano put Bentley Syler to sleep with a perfectly placed right uppercut at 1:34 of round three to win the fourth and final “Performance of the Night” bonus. A bantamweight on “The Ultimate Fighter: Latin America,” Serrano dropped down to 125 pounds for the contest but did not seem to lose any power in the process.
