UFC Fight Night Brasilia Medicals: Erick Silva, Luan Chagas Face 6-Month Layoffs
The “Fight of the Night” winning battle between Erick Silva and Luan Chagas at UFC Fight Night 95 (live odds) exacted a physical toll on both competitors.
Silva and Chagas each received a possible six-month suspension
following their welterweight bout, which Silva won via rear-naked
choke 3:57 into the third frame. Silva is out for six months unless
he is cleared by a doctor for a facial fracture, while Chagas faces
the same term unless he is cleared by an orthopedist for a
fractured fibula.
The Brazilian MMA Athletic Commission (CABMMA) recently released a full list of medical suspensions from this past Saturday’s event. While all 26 fighters who competed on the card were given a minimum 14-day suspension, only seven, including Silva and Chagas, received a longer term.
