Jake Ellenberger and Bryan Barberena will lock horns at UFC Fight Night 131 in Utica, N.Y., on June 1.
The promotion recently announced the welterweight pairing. UFC Fight Night 131 takes place at Adirondack Bank Center and is headlined by a bantamweight showdown between Jimmie Rivera and Marlon Moraes. The card will air on Fox Sports 1 following early prelims on UFC Fight Pass.
Ellenberger has lost four of his last five Octagon appearances. “The Juggernaut” last appeared at UFC Fight Night 108, where he was suffered a brutal elbow knockout loss to Mike Perry. Ellenberger is 10-9 during his UFC tenure and is 31-13 as a professional overall.
Barberena will be making his first appearance of 2018 after going 1-1 in the Las Vegas-based promotion last year. Most recently, the 28-year-old MMA Lab product suffered a decision loss to Leon Edwards at UFC Fight Night 115 last September. Barberena owns a 4-3 UFC record and is 13-5 over the course of his entire MMA career.
