TMZ reported that Couture had suffered the attack after working out at home and actually walked himself to the hospital to seek treatment.
A month on from the incident and TMZ caught up with the 56-year-old, who provided them with a positive update on his recovery (via BJPenn.com):
“Everything’s great, man. I feel amazing. I should have thinned this blood out a long time ago, I guess,” Couture said.
“Second follow-up on Friday. Everything’s normal, back to normal. So I gotta stay on top of the thick blood. Gotta give blood on a regular basis. Unfortunately, they have to throw my blood away because I was stationed in Germany in the 80s. That’s just the way it is.
Couture said that now he’s feeling better after the attack he’ll be heading back to Hollywood to continue to film his new movies.
The positive prognosis also means he’ll be able to return in his role as a color-commentator for the Professional Fighters League in its finale on New Year’s Eve in Las Vegas.
