UFC, IFL Veteran Rory Markham Arrested for Domestic Battery in Illinois
Former UFC and International Fight League competitor Rory
Markham was arrested Saturday on charges of domestic battery
and bodily harm in Chicago, according to
Cook County Sheriff’s Department records.
Markham is currently in custody at the Cook County Sheriff’s Department of Corrections in Chicago. He is scheduled to appear in court in Bridgeview, Ill., on Tuesday. Bail has been set at $250,000. Markham was arrested on a felony assault charge in Davenport, Iowa, earlier this year.
Markham, 31, has not competed as a professional mixed martial artist since March 27, 2010, when he suffered a first-round technical knockout defeat to Nate Diaz at UFC 111. The Miletich Martial Arts representative was also a mainstay of the now-defunct IFL, compiling a 6-2 record with the promotion from April 2006 to December 2007.
