UFC Returns to London for Fight Night Event on March 17

The Ultimate Fighting Championship is heading back to London for a 10th time.

The Las Vegas-based promotion announced Thursday that it will hold a Fight Night event in the city on March 17 at the O2. No bouts were revealed for the card.

“London is always a landmark event for UFC; the fights, fans and city itself always deliver,” UFC senior vice president of international and content David Shaw said in a release. “To see how the organization has grown from the first event at The Albert Hall in 2002 is incredible. Our dedicated fans have helped us grow the sport in the UK to where it is today and we are delighted to bring our 10th event to London. 2018 will be an exciting year for UFC in EMEA and we will certainly be kicking things off in style in March.”

The promotion first ventured to London for UFC 38 in July 2002, a card that saw Matt Hughes stop Carlos Newton in the fourth round of the evening’s main event at Royal Albert Hall. Most recently, scored a first-round knockout of Corey Anderson at UFC Fight Night 107 in London on March 18, 2017. That card streamed in its entirety on UFC Fight Pass. Broadcast plans for the upcoming event are currently unknown.
