Justin Lawrence vs. Daniel Pineda

Round 1
Chris Tognoni is the referee for tonight’s featherweight opener. Lawrence looks to keep Pineda at bay with a front kick, but Pineda gets inside and hits a takedown near the fence. Lawrence works back to his feet, only to have his leg swept and wind up on his back again with Pineda in his half-guard. Pineda leans right to left and starts working a kimura on Lawrence’s left arm as he moves to side control. Lawrence grimaces, and Pineda gets cranks the lock even harder. A couple seconds later, Lawrence is frantically tapping, giving Daniel Pineda the submission win at 1:35 of round one.

Maximo Blanco vs. Sam Sicilia

Round 1
Kim Winslow is the referee for this featherweight bout. Blanco slips on an early high kick and Sicilia tries to take his head off with an uppercut as he stands. Instead, Blanco goes for a single-leg and drags Sicilia down at the base of the cage. They work back up and it’s Blanco coming forward with a jab and an inside leg kick; Sicilia takes a moment before coming back with a nice right hook at the end of a combo. Sicilia keeps swinging with the uppercut, can’t find the chin of Blanco, who responds with a jab and keeps inching forward with low kicks. Blanco sends a few front kicks up the middle before backing out of the way of another heavy Sicilia combo. Blanco snaps Sicilia’s head back with 45 seconds left in the round, then dodges another power punch. The next inside leg kick from Blanco is countered by Sicilia with a right hook. Blanco hits a counter-right hand off a Sicilia kick and gets the “TUF” vet to bite on a feint before the horn.

Round 2
Sicilia drops Blanco with a left-right and tries to snare the Venezuelan with a guillotine as he comes back up. Blanco is back on his feet, but still being held against the cage. Sicilia takes him down again, but Blanco is quickly back up. Ref Winslow issues numerous warnings to Blanco for lacing his fingers in the fence as he works to defend another takedown. Blanco finally shoves Sicilia off and escapes, and now he’s got Sicilia in trouble with a hard right hand. Blanco backs him against the cage and more right hands come as the pair exchange bombs. Sicilia grabs the Thai plum and lands a knee, prompting Blanco to change levels and take down the American. Now bleeding from the nose, Blanco steps into full mount and grinds on Sicilia with elbows. Sicilia flips over, giving up his back, but he slips out and escapes to his feet. Sicilia lands in the ensuing exchange and Blanco circles out to reset. Blanco sticks a jab, but Sicilia looks confident with a minute remaining in the round and pushes forward with front kicks. Another right hand stings Blanco, who comes right back to stagger Sicilia with a combination. One last inside leg kick from Blanco finishes the see-saw second round.

Round 3
Blanco blitzes Sicilia at the start of the final round, leaping at him with a knee before lighting him up with a cracking right hand. Sicilia looks to be in trouble again as Blanco unloads with more punches, but he survives to reset. Now it’s Sicilia damaging Blanco with punches, and Blanco turning the tables again, dropping Sicilia in another firefight. Blanco works to keep Sicilia on his knees, but Sicilia keeps cool and stands back up to press Blanco against the cage. Blanco turns it around to press Sicilia on the fence and gets another warning for grabbing the chain-link. Sicilia squirts out and dings Blanco with a hook as they resume striking. Blanco misses with a spinning kick and Sicilia pulls up just short on a left-handed counter hook. Blanco evades a Sicilia combo and pops him with a jab. Sicilia is coming up short on his charging punches, so he dives on a takedown attempt. Blanco sprawls all over it and holds Sicilia on his knees for a few seconds. When Sicilia pops back up, Blanco greets him with a front headlock and a knee. Sicilia rolls to guard, upkicks and stands. The featherweights finish the fight throwing bombs in the center of the cage, with neither landing a big shot.

Official result: All three judges score the bout 29-28 for the winner by unanimous decision, Maximo Blanco.

Cole Miller vs. Bart Palaszewski

Round 1
Herb Dean is the referee for this featherweight bout. Palaszewski swings and misses with a heavy right hand, lands a leg kick outside as he advances. Still on his back foot, Miller answers the leg kick and slips on a kick up high. He hops back up and gets grazed by a Palaszewski left hand. Now it’s a big right hook landing for Palaszewski, but Miller is starting to get his jab pumping now in between leg kicks. Midway through the first round now and Palaszewski digs a hook to Miller’s body. A hard right hook up top lands for Palaszewski, and he backs Miller toward the fence with another one-two combo. Miller gets in behind a superman punch and double-legs Palaszewski to the ground. He hops on the kneeling Palaszewski’s back and sinks in both hooks, then begins working for the rear-naked choke. Palaszewski defends the wrists at first, but Miller softens him up with short punches and sinks the choke on the next attempt. Miller sits up and leans back, fully sinking the choke and giving Palaszewski no choice but to tap out. Cole Miller wins via submission at 4:23 of round one.

Clint Hester vs. Bristol Marunde

Round 1
Steve Mazzagatti is the referee for this middleweight bout. It’s a slow start to the bout, with neither man landing any significant offense in the opening 90 seconds, though Hester flicks out a few jabs. Marunde connects with a glancing overhand right before the 185-pounders go back to feinting and moving. A step-in uppercut from Marunde connects midway through the round, but after the single punch, Marunde goes back on the defensive against the boxer. Marunde looks to duck inside and is met by a stiff jab. He catches a front kick and dumps Hester to the ground near the fence, setting up in the “TUF 17” fighter’s guard. Marunde looks to control Hester’s arm, but Hester hips out and pops back to his feet, where he drops Marunde with a hard right hook. Marunde is on his knees, grabbing for Hester’s ankle while Hester drops punches down on him. Marunde finishes the ankle pick and rides out the last 20 seconds of the round on top.

Round 2
Marunde sticks a jab and slides backward, away from Hester’s right hand. Hester ducks an overhand right but can’t counter Marunde’s wild punch with anything. The middleweights tie up and Hester drills Marunde with a couple knees in the Thai clinch. A slow-motion Marunde head kick goes off Hester’s forearm, but the right hand behind it lands. Marunde slips on a high kick and winds up on his knees with Hester sprawling on his shot. Marunde keeps after the high single-leg and puts Hester on the ground with two minutes to go. Hester grabs the wrists of Marunde and tries for a triangle, but Marunde pulls out. As he stands, Marunde eats a huge upkick from Hester and drops to his knees. Hester lets Marunde back to his feet and zaps him with a big right hand, then a hard left hook. Marunde is dazed but still throwing (and landing) punches in return. Marunde shoots another single and Hester sprawls again, pushing Marunde’s face into the canvas. Marunde is back on his feet, but he’s quickly shooting again to finish the round after taking another Hester right hand to the temple.

Round 3
Marunde ducks under a big right hand from Hester and latches on to another single-leg. Hester sprawls on it once again and forces Marunde to stand back up after escaping. The punches are coming slow from both men now, so Hester backs up and leaps at Marunde with a knee. Marunde shoots, gets sprawled on and stands back up, now being held on the fence, where Hester lands a pair of punches. Marunde shoots once again and Hester denies it with a sprawl. This time, Hester looks to keep control and spin around to back control. He can’t get it, so he socks Marunde with punches until they stand back up. Marunde lands a right hand as he gets up, answered by a nice right cross from Hester. Jabs are scoring now for Hester, who mixes it up with some knees to the body in the Thai clinch. Marunde leans forward and a standing elbow to the left side of his temple takes the legs right out from under him. Ref Mazzagatti knows this one is over and steps in before Hester can do any further damage to his downed opponent. Clint Hester scores an impressive knockout in his UFC debut at 3:53 of round three.

Dylan Andrews vs. Jimmy Quinlan

Round 1
Chris Tognoni is the referee for this middleweight bout. Quinlan wastes no time getting in on a single-leg, dragging Andrews to the ground after a short struggle. The Australian gets back up instantly and defends a double-leg on the fence by widening his base and pushing down on Quinlan’s head. Andrews socks Quinlan with right hands as the grappler keeps trying for the takedown, now working on a single-leg. With 3:15 left in the round, Quinlan puts Andrews on the ground and sets up in side control, leaning right to left. Andrews gets a hook on Quinlan’s leg and sweeps him over the top, escaping to his feet. Quinlan immediately grabs hold of Andrews on the cage again, prompting a call for action from referee Tognoni. The ref splits them up with just under two minutes remaining and Quinlan tries to get inside with a pair of hooks. Andrews takes a step back and waits for Quinlan to come forward. When he does, Andrews is waiting with a right hand to the temple that puts Quinlan on his knees. Andrews stays standing and unloads with a dozen or more vicious, unanswered right hands to his turtling opponent. Referee Tognoni finally steps in to call a halt to the beating at 3:22 of the first round, giving Dylan Andrews the win via TKO.

Luke Barnatt vs. Collin Hart

Round 1
Kim Winslow is the referee for this middleweight bout. Hart puts Barnatt on the outside quickly and pops the Englishman with leg kicks and punches to the body. They tie up and it’s Hart on the outside, then trying to take Barnatt’s back as they move along the perimeter. Barnatt throws Hart down, lets him up and lands a good knee to Hart’s body in the clinch. Hart answers with a hard left hook as they split, then comes forward and walks into a couple right hands from Barnatt. As he moves forward, Hart catches Barnatt with a kick to the cup. Barnatt recovers quickly and they’re back to work, with Hart rushing at Barnatt and landing a good hook. Barnatt seems dazed as Hart wraps him up and throws him to the ground. Hart gets on the back of the 6-foot-6 fighter but loses his grip as Barnatt scrapes him off against the cage. Barnatt lands a knee to the breadbasket but catches an overhand left on the chin. Barnatt tries to leap at Hart with a knee and gets caught up in Hart’s counters. Though he’s arguably been getting the better of the striking exchanges, Hart’s face is messy with blood. He catches Barnatt with some winging punches before trying to latch on to a leg. Barnatt turns him away but Hart swarms him with overhand punches on the cage. Barnatt lands a stiff jab just as Hart connects with a hook, and they finish in a clinch on the fence.

Round 2
Hart walks through Barnatt’s jab to catch him with a left hand. Barnatt tries a leaping knee as he resets, but he misses and gets tagged with another Hart combo. Barnatt lands a standing elbow and backs Hart off with a straight left. Back to the clinch they go, but Barnatt won’t stay there this time, exiting with a knee to the body. More hooks and elbows land for the “Bigslow,” answered by a flurry of wild hooks from Hart. Barnatt’s face is marked up now, too, mostly around the outside of his right eye. He tries a spinning elbow and gets wrapped up by Hart, who lets go after nearly being tripped down. Midway through the fight now and Barnatt sticks Hart with a jab; Hart lands four quick punches to the Englishman’s body. Hart kicks the leg out from Barnatt and gets a momentary respite from the taller man’s jabs. When Barnatt gets back up, Hart puts him on the fence. Barnatt grabs a standing kimura and rolls through to try and finish with an armbar on the floor. Hart gets to his feet, but he’s trapped in a modified guillotine. Barnatt perhaps senses he won’t finish with the choke and releases to pop Hart with a knee. Barnatt slips on a kick and finishes the round with Hart in guard.

Round 3
Hart is coming forward slowly, walking into jabs and hooks from the fresher Barnatt. A push kick from Barnatt is nearly caught, but he pulls his leg free to continue striking. After 90 seconds of his, Hart pushes Barnatt against the fence. Barnatt stays there only a few seconds before escaping with a standing elbow. A hard right hook and more jabs come from Barnatt; Hart rushes in behind a flurry of punches to clinch again. Barnatt turns him around and pushes off, now with two minutes remaining. Hart changes levels for a single-leg, eats an elbow and moves around to Barnatt’s back. Barnatt gets dumped to the floor but pops back up right away. They break up and now it’s Hart on the offensive, cracking Barnatt with a right hand. Barnatt is finally looking fatigued with about 70 seconds left in the fight, but he still manages to work his jab and sock Hart with a nice right hook. Hart shoots one last single and hits a takedown with 15 seconds left. Barnatt grabs a guillotine in the process; it’s not tight, and time expires anyhow, so this one will be decided on the scorecards.

Kevin Casey vs. Josh Samman

Round 1
Herb Dean is the referee for this middleweight bout. Casey tries a body kick and gets knocked to the ground when Samman kicks out his other leg. Samman pounces on his fallen opponent and falls right into Casey’s triangle choke. Casey rolls over to the fence with Samman trapped, then switches to an armbar. Samman stands up with Casey hanging on his arm and twice drops the “King” on his head. Casey finally lets go and sweeps on top when Samman tries to set up in his guard. Casey controls the right ankle of Samman as he backs up, then comes down to Samman’s open guard. Casey is landing right hands and elbows until Samman decides to wrap up and slow the pace. Samman throws up his legs for a triangle attempt of his own but can’t come close. Casey is keeping busy enough with his top attack and body punches to keep the fight on the ground. Samman nearly sweeps but Casey stays heavy on top and keeps picking away with left hands. Samman gets to his feet with 40 seconds left and works Casey’s body with knees in the clinch to close out the round.

Round 2
Samman picks up where he left off, putting Casey on the fence and softening up the jiu-jitsu specialist with knees in the clinch. Casey tries to offer knees in return, but Samman goes upstairs with his knees now and drops Casey to the ground at the foot of the fence. Casey gets back up, still trapped in Samman’s Thai clinch and now with a massive mouse on the outside of his right brow. Samman is cut around the corner of his left eye, but he keeps punishing Casey with knees. Casey drops again, and this time ref Herb Dean has seen enough. After a submission scare early in round one, Josh Samman storms back to score the TKO at 2:17 of round two.

Robert McDaniel vs. Gilbert Smith

Round 1
Steve Mazzagatti is the referee for tonight’s first main-card bout. McDaniel gets an underhook and puts Smith’s back to the fence; Smith answers with outside knees to the body. McDaniel takes a few of these before stepping back and blasting Smith with a standing elbow and a pair of hard hooks. Smith escapes, catches a kick and trips McDaniel to the ground, where Smith follows to work from Bubba’s open guard. McDaniel sweeps to drop a few elbows before Smith gets up and dumps his fellow “TUF 17” castmate down again. McDaniel is busy off his back, working to escape and scooting back toward the fence, but Smith stays heavy on top and then traps his opponent’s legs. McDaniel gets to a knee anyhow and cracks Smith with a few hard elbows before standing. Smith keeps a high double-leg and pulls McDaniel down again. McDaniel goes to stand again, this time grabbing a guillotine as he stands. Smith is forced to his back in order to escape, and now McDaniel passes to side control with about 20 seconds left. McDaniel slugs with a pair of hard left hands and two big knees to the body before the horn.

Round 2
Smith looks to tie up early, gets shoved away. McDaniel lands a combo that appears to daze Smith, who keeps his senses about him enough to wade inside and clinch. Smith holds McDaniel on the fence now, not mounting any offense or advancing position before McDaniel is able to turn it around. McDaniel can’t do much with the position either, and Smith grabs hold of Bubba’s right leg to try for another takedown. McDaniel defends, turns him around and puts a knee on Smith’s head before they split. McDaniel lands a right hook, gets backed off by a Smith jab. Smith snares McDaniel in a guillotine as Bubba shoots, and McDaniel tries to flip over the top. The flip loosens the choke enough for McDaniel to breathe, then escape and try to hold Smith down from deep half guard. Smith goes to his knees and McDaniel goes around back to sink in both hooks. McDaniel loses a hook and opts for dropping punches instead. Smith eats a half-dozen shots before rolling through and putting McDaniel back in half-guard with a minute remaining. Smith powers back to his feet and McDaniel stings him with another combo just before the end of the frame.

Round 3
McDaniel lands a right and trips Smith to the ground after catching a kick. Smith is right back up and soon shoots a double, but McDaniel sniffs it out and rolls Smith onto his back with an underhook. McDaniel passes to side control, then to full mount, but Smith is able to quickly put him back in half-guard. McDaniel is landing sporadic shots as Smith buries his head into his opponent’s chest and tries to get back to his feet. McDaniel turns the corner and works to take Smith’s back; again, he’s unable to sink his hooks. Smith rolls McDaniel onto his back, but as Smith goes to get on top, he rolls right into a triangle choke. McDaniel has Smith’s head trapped tightly, and when McDaniel adds an armbar to the equation, Smith taps out. The triangle-armbar submission gets Bubba McDaniel the win at 2:49 of round three.

Travis Browne vs. Gabriel Gonzaga

Round 1
Chris Tognoni is the referee for this heavyweight bout. Gonzaga dives on a leg after a Browne high kick, can’t get the takedown but uses it to push “Hapa” against the fence. Browne tries to work some knees up the middle, then some elbows to the side of Gonzaga’s head. The Brazilian, meanwhile, stays low and keeps trying for the takedown, his double-leg forcing Browne to grab the fence. Browne receives a verbal warning for the grab, so he instead unloads with three or four brutal elbows to Gonzaga’s head. Gonzaga goes limp and slumps face-first to the canvas, and ref Tognoni has to rush in to rescue the fallen big man. It’s a nasty knockout for Travis Browne at 1:11 of the first round.

Miesha Tate vs. Cat Zingano

Round 1
Referee Kim Winslow is the third woman in the cage for this bantamweight bout. Tate rushes across the middle of the cage to grab hold of Zingano and drag her to the ground. Zingano twice gets back to her feet, the second time getting caught in a front headlock. They trade positions as Tate pushes Zingano into the fence and Zingano snares Tate in a guillotine. Zingano cranks the choke, putting the shorter Tate on her tip-toes. Tate pops her head loose and charges forward to slug Zingano with punches on the fence. She gets Zingano on the ground and threatens with a choke from the top briefly, until Zingano sweeps to side control on Tate’s left side. Tate throws up her legs in an attempt to sweep, can’t, and instead uses them to wall-walk and shove Zingano off. Tate gets to her feet and blitzes Zingano again, and both women land big punches in the exchange, though Tate arguably lands harder. They clinch and Zingano exits with a huge knee. She adds an uppercut and a hook before Tate changes levels and takes Zingano down again. Ninety seconds left in what has been a furious first round and it’s Tate on top, working to pass to Zingano’s left. She stalls out and drops a pair of heavy elbows on Zingano’s face, then a few more 20 seconds later. More elbows land for Tate down the stretch as she stays heavy on top of Zingano to the horn.

Round 2
Tate sidesteps a flying knee, then grabs a leg and drags Zingano down to the ground. Tate leans right to left in a deep half-guard, elbowing the body of Zingano, whose head is flush to the cage. Tate turns Zingano’s left side to the fence as she continues her attempt to pass. It’s full mount now for Tate, who drops elbows that force Zingano to turn over. Tate catches an armbar on Zingano’s right arm, but Zingano goes over the top, relieves the pressure and waits out the attempt. Tate finally releases with just under 3:00 remaining and pushes Zingano onto her back. Tate goes knee-on-belly, then nearly takes Zingano’s back as they roll. Zingano gets on top in the scramble, but she’s forced to defend against a heel hook. Tate falls back on the leglock, but Zingano doesn’t appear to be panicking. They stall out in the position -- Tate cranking the lock, Zingano elbowing Tate’s leg -- until four minutes in, when Zingano spins out and sits up in half-guard. Zingano drops three or four hard elbows and punches before Tate can shrimp underneath. Another couple shots land before Tate can get back on her feet. The former Strikeforce champ shoots and gets sprawled on by Zingano, who adds another pair of punches before the horn.

Round 3
Zingano hits a double-leg and rolls Tate up as Tate looks for a potential armbar. Zingano goes back to guard, then half-guard, where she sits up and unloads with a flurry of punches. Tate gets to her knees, where Zingano meets her with a front headlock and drags Tate across the cage. Zingano stuffs Tate onto her back again and drops some more nasty ground-and-pound. Tate’s nose is oozing blood as Zingano continues roughing her up with punches and shoulders to the face. Tate gets to her knees and is met by a barrage of left hands. Just as she stands, Tate eats a huge knee from Zingano that puts her back on the ground. Somehow, Tate stands back up, but she’s out on her feet and the next trio of knees from Zingano seals her fate. Tate is still shooting when ref Winslow calls the bout at 2:55 of round three, setting up a future title fight between Cat Zingano and champion Ronda Rousey.

Kelvin Gastelum vs. Uriah Hall

Round 1
Referee Herb Dean is the referee for the “TUF 17” final. Gastelum bounces forward, changing levels and scooting Hall backward around the perimeter. Hall stands with his hands down and his back on the fence, allowing Gastelum to punch him and get inside to clinch. Gastelum tries to knee the larger Hall, who shoves Gastelum’s face away but can’t get off the fence. Gastelum backs out 90 seconds into the round, then comes forward on Hall with a leg kick that lands and a high kick which does not. Hall slaps Gastelum’s face with a high kick, then moves backward to matador Gastelum. Hall pops his man with a jab, but Gastelum comes forward to stagger Hall with a left hand on the temple. Hall seems fine as he backs Gastelum off with a push kick, but Gastelum is tenacious and takes Hall down with a double-leg on the cage. Gastelum drops elbows from half-guard with two minutes remaining. There’s a brief kimura attempt which Gastelum lets go of, and Hall regains his full guard. Gastelum roughs Hall up with rugged ground-and-pound in the final minute, but Hall scoots to the fence and stands with 35 seconds to go. Hall sticks a jab and plows Gastelum down with a charging double-leg. Gastelum stands and finishes the round with his back to the fence and Hall in a headlock.

Round 2
Gastelum is pulling up short on his punches early in round two, and Hall’s rangy front kicks aren’t helping. Hall slaps Gastelum’s face with another high kick and then dips out of the way of an overhand punch. Gastelum gets Hall on the fence and takes him down with a double-leg, then sits up high in Hall’s half-guard. Hall’s long arms help him wrap up and limit Gastelum’s offense, so Gastelum drops a few punches to Hall’s body. Elbows are landing now for Gastelum, who momentarily presses his forearm across Hall’s throat. Halfway through the round, Hall bumps Gastelum and sweeps, then tags the Arizonan with a hard knee to the jaw as they stand. Gastelum may be hurt -- from the knee or the follow-up punches -- but it’s hard to tell, because he quickly has Hall pressed against the fence. Hall reverses the momentum by tripping Gastelum and falling down on top, in half-guard on Gastelum’s right side. Gastelum is looking for a stand-up from the ref after 15 seconds of Hall holding him down. He doesn’t get it, but Gastelum gets to his knees while under fire from Hall elbows. Hall keeps a rear waistlock and sends Gastelum head over heels with a suplex. Gastelum gets right back up and puts Hall on the cage to finish the round.

Round 3
Hall lands a knee to the body early in the final round, but ref Dean says it strayed low and Gastelum is given time to recover. He takes only a few seconds, and they’re back to work with Hall landing outside leg kicks as Gastelum bounces forward. Stiff jab goes for Hall as he catches Gastelum stepping in. Gastelum takes a moment, then charges at Hall and suplexes him to the ground. Gastelum tries to secure the back, but Hall gets out the back door and catches Gastelum kneeling with a flurry of punches. Gastelum escapes to his feet and slows the pace by holding Hall on the cage. They split with just over half the round remaining and Hall goes back to sniping with long jabs, then dodging Gastelum’s overhand bombs. Gastelum lands a wide left which Hall shakes off. Inside leg kick connects for Gastelum, who steps out of the way of a Hall punch. Gastelum hits a double-leg in the middle of the cage and grabs hold of Hall’s arm, but gives it up to go to Hall’s guard. Now it’s Hall throwing up his legs for an armbar which doesn’t go. Gastelum is slugging away from the top now, though it appears Hall is deflecting most of the shots; Hall is showing some good offense, rocking Gastelum’s head with punches from his back. Hall finishes on top as Gastelum goes for an armbar, and this one is going to the judges.

Urijah Faber vs. Scott Jorgensen

Round 1
Steve Mazzagatti is the referee for tonight’s bantamweight main event, scheduled for five rounds. Faber swings an uppercut which doesn’t land but gets Jorgensen to shoot. Faber sprawls on Jorgensen and gets a front headlock, until Jorgensen pops loose and puts Faber on the cage with underhooks. Faber gets an underhook and reverses, holding Jorgensen on the cage, but Jorgensen trips Faber to the mat. As Faber stands, Jorgensen keeps a waistlock and spins to take the back. Faber looks to be in trouble, but he grabs Jorgensen’s leg and dumps “Young Guns” to the ground. They scramble back their feet, where Faber pops Jorgensen with a pair of speedy combos. Faber backs Jorgensen up with a right cross, then forces him to shoot with a hard knee to the midsection. Faber shuts down the shot and turns the corner to take Jorgensen’s back. Faber is in good position on the back with a body triangle, drilling Jorgensen with punches and elbows. Faber switches to a guillotine that looks extremely deep, and Jorgensen appears ready to tap before he’s able to roll and loosen the choke. Faber spends the last minute on Jorgensen’s back, sealing a strong opening round.

Round 2
Jorgensen comes out aggressive and closes in on Faber early in the round. Faber goes low with an inside leg kick and Jorgensen needs a moment to recover. When they resume, it’s Jorgensen landing inside leg kicks and sticking Faber with a short hook as he comes inside. Faber blocks a high kick and charges Jorgensen with a hard step-in knee to the chin. A straight shot from Jorgensen backs Faber off momentarily. When Faber next comes forward, Jorgensen looks to change levels and bowl him over, but Faber rolls through and back to his feet. Faber blocks his second Jorgensen high kick of the round. He feints a shot and puts Jorgensen on the cage briefly. With just over two minutes left in the round, Faber hits a takedown in the center of the cage. Jorgensen leans to try a kimura on Faber’s right arm, while Faber uses his left arm to sock Jorgensen in the ribs. Jorgensen uses the kimura to sweep out and escape to his feet, catching Faber with a left hand on the way. Jorgensen lands a counter as Faber comes inside, but Faber puts him on the fence. They trade position a few times as the round winds down. Faber turns away one last shot from Jorgensen, who swipes and lands one last left hand before the horn.

Round 3
Jorgensen is aggressive again at the start of round three, sticking Faber with some good jabs as he walks the “California Kid” toward the cage. Faber is still moving well, sticking and moving, and twice making Jorgensen flinch on faked shots. A crisp right-left combo from Faber leaves Jorgensen blinking, and Faber follows up with another hard right hook shortly after. Jorgensen gives Faber one back in the clinch; Faber backs out and throws a pair of lefts to the body. Faber sticks a jab before he’s wrapped up and pushed against the cage. Jorgensen tries to take the back standing, can’t stay there, so holds Faber on the fence and works some knees. Faber fends off another attempt to take his back and pushes Jorgensen away. Faber scores with a knee and a left hand, but Jorgensen gets the Thai clinch and shoves Faber to his knees. With 80 seconds left in the round, Jorgensen is holding Faber on the cage, again trying to take the back. He can’t get it, so he exits with a hard standing elbow. A long left hand lands for Jorgensen, then a chopping leg kick outside. Faber plows Jorgensen down with a double-leg at the 10-second mark, can’t do anything with the position before the horn.

Round 4
Faber lands a kick the body, but Jorgensen comes back with three or four stiff punches. A searing right from Faber backs Jorgensen away. Jorgensen briefly hits the ground on a trip, but gets back up to shoot a long double-leg. Faber sprawls and tries a guillotine; Jorgensen pops out easily and sticks Faber with jabs back on the feet. Faber grabs a leg, doesn’t follow through on the shot. Faber clinches up and eats a big elbow in close quarters. Faber shoots in with about 2:00 remaining and Jorgensen sprawls wide, allowing Faber to secure his back in a scramble near the fence. Faber cinches up a body triangle and rolls Jorgensen onto his back, sinking in a rear-naked choke in the process. Jorgensen hesitates for a moment, but the choke is deep and he’s forced to submit. The end comes officially at 3:16 of round four, giving Urijah Faber his second straight submission win.
