Vicente Luque and Mike Perry went toe-to-toe for three rounds in the UFC Uruguay co-main event, resulting in mangled nose for Perry and a $50,000 “Fight of the Night” bonus for both welterweights.
Luque mixed up his attacks with punches and low kicks while absorbing bursts of power head shots from Perry as the two men exchanged willingly throughout. The Hard Knocks 365 representative shattered his opponent’s nose with a knee and punctuated his split-decision victory with a blood-wrenching guillotine choke late in the fight.
Elsewhere, Volkan Oezdemir received a $50,000 “Performance of the Night” for a second-round knockout of Ilir Latifi in a featured light heavyweight clash. “No Time” dropped Latifi with a knee strike, and then finished his reeling foe with a pair of left hooks at the 4:31 mark of the stanza, ending a three-bout skid for the former title challenger.
Finally, Veronica Macedo garnered the card’s other $50,000 “Performance of the Night” check for making short work of Polyana Viana in the evening’s opening bout. Macedo ended their contest with an armbar 69 seconds in, setting a record for the fastest submission in a UFC women’s flyweight fight.
