UFC Vet Alexis Dufresne Among Additions to Bellator Women’s Featherweight Roster

Alexis Dufresne’s troubles on the scale should be a thing of the past in Bellator MMA.

Dufresne, who was cut from the UFC after missing weight ahead of her first two Octagon appearances, is one of three new additions to Bellator’s women’s featherweight division. Roberta Paim Rovel and Iony Razafiarison will also join the promotion’s 145-pound roster.

Bellator announced the signings via press release on Thursday. Debuts for the three fighters will be announced at a later date.

Dufresne suffered back-to-back losses to Sarah Moras and Marion Reneau while competing in the UFC’s bantamweight division. Those setbacks, along with the weight-cutting issues, led to the Las Vegas-based promotion severing ties with the 24-year-old Team Quest representative. Prior to her UFC foray, “Sneaky Zebra” went 5-0 on the regional circuit, with all of her triumphs coming inside of a round.

A native of Rio de Janeiro, Paim is 4-0 as a professional. All four of her victories have come in the opening frame, including a first-round TKO triumph over Lilian Lika in her most recent outing this past August.

The 30-year-old Razafiarison has been victorious in both of her professional appearances. Most recently, the Paris native scored a unanimous decision triumph over Sandra Ameziane on Jan. 31.
