During its WOSF 34 broadcast on Dec. 31, the promotion confirmed that incumbent heavyweight champion Blagoy Ivanov would defend his heavyweight strap against Ultimate Fighting Championship veteran Shawn Jordan in the new year.

The Ivanov-Jordan bout is set to take place on Feb. 25, at a date and city yet to be named, as part of WSOF 35.

The 32-year-old Jordan exited the UFC after losing a single bout to Ruslan Magomedov in October of last year. After compiling a 7-4 mark inside the Octagon, the former Louisiania State University tailback made the move to World Series of Fighting and after a rote showcase fight against Ashley Gooch -- which Jordan won via knockout in the first round ? earned himself a title shot against the promotion's incumbent champ.

Since entering the WSOF ranks, the world sambo champion Ivanov, 30, has won three in a row, holding one-sided victories over Smealinho Rama, Derrick Mehmen and Josh Copeland in order to earn the promotional crown.
