Some familiar faces have been booked to compet at the top of the ARES Fighting Championship 2 card.
Nordine Taleb will face Maarten Wouters in the card’s middleweight main event, while John Moraga will square off against Hector Sandoval in the flyweight co-headliner at Forest National-Vorst Nationaal Arena in Brussels, Belgium, on April 3. The promotion announced the bouts on Tuesday.
ARES held its first event in Dakar, Senegal, on Dec. 14. That card included the likes of former UFC talents Ildemar Alcantara, Taylor Lapilus and Lukasz Sajewski.
A 12-time UFC veteran, Taleb last appeared at UFC 242, where he suffered a first-round knockout loss to Muslim Salikhov. A native of Belgium, Wouters has compiled an 11-7 career mark while competing for a number of different promotions.
Moraga, who challenged for the UFC flyweight belt in 2013, is coming of a second-round TKO defeat at the hands of Deiveson Figueiredo at UFC Fight Night 135 in August 2018. A four-time UFC competitor, Sandoval outpointed Jorge Calvo Martin at Combate Americas “Stockton” in his last outing this past May.
