UFC on ESPN 3 Medical Suspensions: Two Fighters Facing 180-Day Terms



Two fighters from UFC on ESPN 3 are facing potential 180-day layoffs following Saturday’s card in Minneapolis.

Vinicius Moreira will be sidelined six months following a first-round knockout loss to Eryk Anders in a preliminary light heavyweight bout unless he produces a clear CT scan; at a minimum he is suspended 60 days. Meanwhile, Maurice Greene is also facing a six-month sit after a first-round TKO of Junior Albini in a heavyweight contest unless he can produce clean x-rays. At a minimum, Greene has been suspended for 30 days.

The Minnesota Office of Combative Sports recently released medical suspensions from the card.

UFC on ESPN 3 took place at the Target Center and saw Francis Ngannou defeat Junior dos Santos via first-round TKO in the evening’s heavyweight headliner. Ngannou was given a mandatory 14-day suspension, while dos Santos will be sidelined for 45 days.

Marco Polo Reyes: 45-day medical suspension

Alonzo Menifield: 14-day mandatory rest period

Paul Craig: 90-day medical suspension

Ricardo Ramos: 14-day mandatory rest period

Journey Newson: 30-day medical suspension

Eryk Anders: 14-day mandatory rest period

Vinicius Moreira: 180-day medical suspension (60-day minimum, requires clear CT scan)

Jared Gordon: 30-day medical suspension

Dan Moret: 30-day medical suspension

Dalcha Lungiambula: 14-day mandatory rest period

Dequan Townsend: 45-day medical suspension

Emily Whitmire: 14-day mandatory rest period

Amanda Ribas: 14-day mandatory rest period

Maurice Greene: 180-day medical suspension (30-day minimum, requires x-rays)
