UFC on ESPN 55 Weigh-in Results: 2 Fighters Heavy

The Ultimate Fighting Championship returns following its historic card two weeks ago with a flyweight main event at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas.

Sitting atop the UFC on ESPN 55 card is a 125-pound fight between contenders Matheus Nicolau and Alex Perez. Both headliners successfully made weight for the five-round fight. As for the rest of the card, two fighters missed weight. David Onama came in 2.5 pounds over the featherweight limit, and James Llontop came in half a pound over the lightweight cap. Both fighters will be fined 20% of their respective purses.

This marks the first UFC main event for Nicolau (19-3-1). The Brazilian is coming off a knockout loss to Brandon Royval in his lone fight of 2023. Prior to the setback, the 31-year-old had been on a six-fight win streak with wins over the likes of Matt Schnell, Tim Elliott and Manel Kape. The Nova Uniao fighter stepped on the scale weighing 125.5 pounds.

Meanwhile, this is the second headlining fight for Perez (24-8), his first since a title defeat to Deiveson Figueiredo in 2020. Since then, the American has gone 0-2, losing to both Alexandre Pantoja and Muhammad Mokaev. The 32-year-old will look to rebound in a must-win fight if he hopes to stick around the top of the division. The Team Oyama product officially weighed 126 pounds on the dot.

UFC on ESPN 55's main card will begin airing on ESPN and ESPN+ at 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT on Saturday. Prelims kick off three hours prior on ESPN2 and ESPN+ at 4 p.m. ET/1 p.m. PT.
