Andrei Arlovski will meet Francis Ngannou at UFC on Fox 23 on Jan. 28.
The heavyweight bout was announced during UFC Tonight on Wednesday. UFC on Fox 23 takes place at the Pepsi Center in Denver and is headlined by a women’s bantamweight tilt between Valentina Shevchenko and Julianna Pena.
Arlovski, a former heavyweight champion, will look to snap a three-fight skid when he faces Ngannou. “The Pit Bull” went winless in 2016, as he was finished by Josh Barnett, Alistair Overeem and Stipe Miocic in his three Octagon appearances. Prior to that, the Jackson-Wink MMA product experienced a late-career resurgence, winning six straight fights from 2013 to 2015 — including four in the UFC.
Ngannou, meanwhile, has established himself as one of the top new talents in the heavyweight division. The 30-year-old Frenchman earned his fourth straight finish in the Las Vegas-promotion on Dec. 9, as he submitted Anthony Hamilton with a kimura 1:57 into the first round at UFC Fight Night 102.
