UFC on Fox 25 Update: Brian Kelleher to Face Marlon Vera in Long Island

Brian Kelleher will get a relatively quick turnaround from his Octagon debut when he faces Marlon Vera at UFC on Fox 25 in Long Island.

Newsday first reported the bantamweight bout on Wednesday. UFC on Fox 25 takes place at Nassau Coliseum on July 22 and is headlined by a middleweight scrap between Chris Weidman and Kelvin Gastelum.

Kelleher made a name for himself at UFC 212, when he submitted Iuri Alcantara with a guillotine choke in the first round this past Saturday. The 30-year-old New York native has now won seven consecutive fights. He owns a 17-7 career record, with 14 triumphs coming inside the distance.

The 24-year-old Vera has won three of his last four Octagon appearances, including back-to-back victories over Brad Pickett and Guangyou Ning. The Ecuador native is 9-3 as a pro and his finished seven of his wins by knockout, technical knockout or submission.
