Frankie Perez vs. Chris Wade

Round 1

Wade fires off a left high kick and pressures Perez backward to the fence, where the lightweights tie up and Wade begins looking for a trip. Wade drags Perez to the mat inside the opening minute, peppering with left hands as he passes to half guard, then tries to move to the back. Perez turtles up until he's able to scramble back to his feet; once he stands, Perez spins Wade against the wall, then drops to try a takedown of his own. Wade stuffs the shot at first, but Perez stays wrapped around his legs and pulls him to the ground. Ninety seconds left in the round as Perez continues to cling to Wade's lower half. Wade uses a kimura to work back to his feet, but Perez trips him straight back to the floor, this time putting Wade on his back. Wade sweeps to top position and holds Perez in a headlock as the pace slows in the last minutes.

Round 2

Wade takes the center of the cage and uses a variety of kicks and jabs to keep the circling Perez out of the pocket. Perez stuffs a takedown attempt from the wrestler, but Wade fires a kick up the center which seems to get his opponent's attention. Seconds later, Wade shoots again and this time succeeds in taking Perez to the canvas. Perez tries to walk off the wall and catch Wade in a reverse triangle. When that doesn't materialize, Perez looks to kick off and flip over top of Wade, but Wade stays heavy on top and keeps him pinned. Inside 90 seconds left, Perez moves over to the base of the fence and tries to stand. Wade won't let him escape, however, and holds Perez against the cage while tying up his legs. Perez finally climbs back to his feet just before the round ends.

Wade moves in to clinch, jams Perez against the fence for a few seconds, but Perez reverses and separates. Wade stings Perez with a punch and tries to rush into the pocket with a follow-up knee; Perez is waiting and hits a quick takedown, but Wade sweeps to top position almost instantly. Wade postures up in Perez's open guard, now halfway through the final round. Perez tries to kick him away, but Wade comes back to the ground in side control. Perez reclaims full guard, kicks away again and scrambles to his feet. Wade follows and tries to hold Perez on the wall. Perez uses over-unders to put Wade's back against the fence, and the lightweights finally separate with 30 seconds remaining. Wade shoots one last shot, but Perez drops to his knees and finishes the round dropping hammerfists on Wade's body.

Shane Burgos vs. Godofredo Pepey

Round 1

Both featherweights come out firing hard, if not very accurate, punches. "Pepey" connects with a looping right hand, slips to the ground and scrambles back to his feet before Burgos can capitalize. Burgos walks down the Brazilian, backing up Castro to the fence as they fight into the second minute. Castro tries a takedown, can't get it, and instead is sent to the canvas by a Burgos knee. Burgos wants Castro back on his feet; as soon as the Brazilian stands, Burgos tees off with punches which bloody Castro's nose. Referee Keith Peterson orders Castro to stand again; this time, Pepey wraps up Burgos against the fence and tries to ride him to the ground. Burgos resists the takedown and separates, then begins stalking forward on Castro again. Castro whiffs on a spinning kick, misses with a punch behind it and gets zapped by Burgos' counter right hand. Burgos shrugs off another takedown attempt, but Castro comes back and clinches to hold Burgos on the wall for the final 20 seconds.

Sherdog Scores

Jordan Breen scores the round 10-8 Burgos
Tristen Critchfield scores the round 10-8 Burgos
Chris Nelson scores the round 10-8 Burgos

Round 2

Castro works from his back foot again in round two, trying to fend off Burgos with jabs. Burgos dodges almost every punch thrown by the Brazilian, however, and continues to catch "Pepey" with speedy right hands. Castro tries to pull guard, motions for Burgos to follow him to the ground, but Burgos is having none of it. Halfway through the round, Castro pulls guard again. Burgos stands, and when referee Peterson orders Castro to do the same, Castro is slow to get up. After some more backpedaling, Castro repeats the sequence, again slow to stand when the ref tells him to get up. Castro begins slapping his head, taunting Burgos to come forward and then trying to counter, but Castro's punches bounce harmlessly off Burgos' body. Burgos keeps pumping his jab as he walks forward, gets pulled into Castro's guard in the final 20 seconds and finishes the round dropping hammerfists.

Sherdog Scores

Jordan Breen scores the round 10-9 Burgos
Tristen Critchfield scores the round 10-9 Burgos
Chris Nelson scores the round 10-9 Burgos

Round 3

Castro comes out windmilling sloppy overhand rights which bounce off Burgos' shoulders. Burgos snipes back with hard, accurate jabs which rock Castro's head and force him to backpedal again. Burgos snuffs out a long shot from Castro, then resumes stalking him. Castro is landing almost nothing at this point, and while Burgos' accuracy has dropped off, he continues to land stinging punches through the middle of the final round. "Pepey" tries a takedown at the fence but abandons the shot after taking several punches and elbows to the side of the head. Burgos drops Castro with a blistering body shot, then strolls off, looking for ref Peterson to stop the fight. Castro motions for Burgos to come to the ground, then barely manages to get back on his feet. Burgos knocks Castro to the ground one last time in the closing moments, gets wrapped up in the Brazilian's guard and finishes with hammerfists.

Junior Albini vs. Timothy Johnson

Round 1

Johnson backs up Albini with a flurry of punches, but the Brazilian circles out to the center and tags Johnson with a clean kick to the ribs. Johnson barges his way into the pocket with straight punches, digs an underhook and traps Albini against the wall. Johnson uses his free left hand to pepper Albini's body and head with short punches as they grapple on the fence. Two minutes in, Albini separates and the heavyweights move back to the center of the cage. Albini catches Johnson stepping inside, tagging the American with a left hook. This gets Johnson backing up, and Albini steps inside with a nasty knee to the breadbasket and follow-up left hook. A right hand comes behind it, putting Johnson on the ground, and Albini needs only a couple more punches to force referee John McCarthy into action.

The Official Result

Junior Albini def. Timothy Johnson via TKO (Punches) R1 2:51

Brian Kelleher vs. Marlon Vera

Round 1

Kelleher looks to get inside on the taller Vera in the opening minute, but once he finds the opening to shoot, Kelleher is unable to complete the takedown attempt. Vera is backed up to the fence, however, and he absorbs a hard body shot from "Boom" as they disengage. Kelleher shoots again, grabbing for a single-leg, but again Vera uses wrist control to neutralize the attempt. Vera gets hold of a standing kimura, keeps the lock in place as the bantamweights hit the ground, then switches to an extremely tight armbar. Kelleher taps almost before the arm is fully extended.

The Official Result

Marlon Vera def. Brian Kelleher via Submission (Armbar) R1 2:18

Kyle Bochniak vs. Jeremy Kennedy

Round 1

Bochniak sprints across the cage to throw a hook, and Kennedy ducks straight under the punch to complete a quick takedown within 10 seconds of the opening horn. The featherweights move from the center of the cage toward the outside, with Bochniak fending off Kennedy's attempts to pass guard. Kennedy wraps up Bochniak around the waist as the Massachusetts native attempts to stand. Halfway through the round, Kennedy remains on top, in Bochniak's butterfly guard. Bochniak looks for a guillotine from the bottom, but the choke doesn't materialize. Bochniak rolls to his knees and then stands up, scraping Kennedy off his back in the transition. The 145ers finally separate with 90 seconds on the clock. Kennedy catches Bochniak in the Thai clinch and throws three knees to the body before changing levels for another effortless takedown, this time in the center of the cage. "JBC" keeps Bochniak trapped on the bottom for the final minute of the round.

Kennedy jams Bochniak up against the base of the fence, controlling the American with a body lock. Bochniak gets to his knees, then back to his feet with 3:20 remaining in the middle frame. Kennedy trips "Crash" back to the ground 10 seconds later and continues to muscle Bochniak against the wall. Bochniak works from his knees back to his feet again, this time eating a few under-the-arm punches from Kennedy along the way. Kennedy scores another takedown, his fifth of the bout, still with two minutes on the clock in round two. Bochniak escapes to his feet again, only to be driven back to the canvas in the center of the cage. The Canadian is crushing Bochniak with top pressue, leaving him no room to escape away from the fence. Kennedy connects with a couple solid right hands on the floor just before the end of the round.

Round 3

Bochniak thwarts Kennedy's first takedown attempt of the round and then presses forward on the Canadian, backing him up toward the fence. Kennedy gets his head snapped back with a right hand but comes back to hit Bochniak with a clinch knee to the body. Kennedy is looking tired as he circles to his left, his back almost touching the cage. Bochniak looks to be the fresher fighter, still throwing punches with some power behind them. A low kick from Bochniak strays to the cup of Kennedy, and referee Todd Anderson pauses the fight to give "JBC" some recovery time. Action resumes with 3:10 on the clock, and Bochniak once again finds the mark with a right hand over the top. Kennedy eats another right hand and goes shooting for a takedown at the fence. Bochniak tries to extract his legs from the double, then hunts for a kimura, but Kennedy is tenacious and completes the takedown inside the final two minutes. Kennedy looks content to ride out the final 90 seconds on the floor, wrapping up Bochniak with a tight bodylock and keeping him stuffed against the foot of the fence. Kennedy starts landing some short left hands, then goes back to controlling Bochniak, who is still trying to free himself when the final horn sounds.

Grabowski comes over the top with a windmill right hand, countered by Sherman with a right hook and a body kick. Grabowski is breathing heavily with 90 seconds on the clock in round one. The "Polish Pitbull" lands the overhand right again, but Sherman is able to snap off another counter, landing the harder shot of the exchange. Sherman's leg kicks, which nearly chopped down Grabowski in the opening frame, are still adding up here in the second. Sherman is easily controlling the center of the cage, keeping Grabowski on the outside. The "Vanilla Gorilla" begins to pick up the pace late in the round after stuffing a Grabowski takedown attempt. Sherman swarms the grappler with punches in the last minute and delivers a hard knee to the gut. Grabowski swings and, thankfully, misses with a big right hand which would have landed well after the horn.

Grabowski comes off the fence with an overhand left, and Sherman backs off a bit, evading the punch but giving Grabowski some room to work in the center. Sherman lands a left hook, then a straight right, and Grabowski answers with a body punch. Sherman continues to throw combinations, usually finishing with a low kick, but the strikes have slowed significantly with two minutes left in the bout. Grabowski lands an overhand right, shoots for a double-leg from way out and gets shoved away. Sherman backs up the Pole against a cage post and attacks with a punching combination; Grabowski tries to clinch up and gets spun against the wall, then slugged with a right hand on the break. Oliveira blocks the takedown, so LaFlare comes up top and shoves "Cowboy" against the cage with a body lock. LaFlare trips the Brazilian to the ground, where Oliveira throws up a short-lived armbar attempt. Now it's LaFlare on top, working from side control on Oliveira's left side, now moving to north-south position. Oliveira breaks up a north-south choke attempt, so LaFlare goes back to side control and drives his knee into Oliveira's ribs. LaFlare leans across Oliveira's body to frame up a kimura, but Oliveira bucks him back to half guard. Inside the final minute of round one, LaFlare continues to pin Oliveira to the canvas with heavy pressure from side control.

LaFlare comes charging into the pocket to throw a left hand and gets blown up by a perfectly timed uppercut counter from Oliveira. LaFlare hits the canvas face-first, and Oliveira strolls away with a sudden and stunning knockout victory.

Round 1

The middleweights exchange some probing punches and low kicks in the center of the cage before Anders connects with a cracking left straight. Anders denies the shot and chases "Sapo" back to the outside, landing a knee and follow-up punches. Natal flees to the other side of the cage, but he's followed by Anders, who hustles the Brazilian back to the canvas. Anders sits atop Natal and drops a couple heavy punches, but Sapo is able to slip loose and scramble to his feet. Anders gives Natal no space to work, launching another attack up against the fence. The welterweights separate and Good grazes the face of dos Santos with a long right hook. A low kick from dos Santos chops the left leg of Good, who quickly jumps back to his feet. Midway through the round, Good presses out from the center of the cage, catches a kick from dos Santos and converts it into a takedown. Dos Santos may be the fresher fighter at this point, still launching spinning attacks and marking up Good's face with punches. Good marches forward and throws four or five quick punches to the body of dos Santos, who pulls the Thai plum and drives a knee into Good's body. With 90 seconds left, the welterweights tie up on the fence, dos Santos in the outside position. Chris Weidman vs. Kelvin Gastelum

Round 1

Veteran referee "Big" John McCarthy is the third man in the cage for tonight's 185-pound main event, with judges Sal D'Amato, Jeff Mullen and Cardo Urso scoring the bout. Weidman opens with an inside leg kick as Gastelum stands tall, his arms raised high to fend off the advances of the taller man. Gastelum presses forward with an outstretched lead hand, moving Weidman backward toward the fence. As soon as Weidman shoots, however, Gastelum is on the ground, turtling up as the "All-American" spins to take the back. Gastelum powers back to his feet, Weidman still hanging off his back. Weidman rides him back to the mat and lands in side control on Gastelum's left side with half the round remaining. Weidman straddles Gastelum's head and works to set up a kimura, but Gastelum is grabbing his own trunks to keep his right arm out of danger. Weidman overcommits to the kimura, allowing Gastelum to rise and escape the submission attempt. With 10 seconds on the clock, Gastelum steps forward and blasts Weidman with a tremendous left hand. Weidman sits up and clings to a leg, barely surviving to the horn as Gastelum pounds his skull with hammerfists.

Round 2

After a slow opening minute to the round, Weidman gets hold of Gastelum and jams him against the fence. Weidman drops for an ankle pick and then spins to take Gastelum's back. Weidman starts working for a rear-naked choke with one hook in, but he loses the position as Gastelum powers back to his feet. Weidman ragdolls Gastelum back to the mat and now throws left hands from the rear. Back up comes Gastelum... and back down again as Weidman stays clung to his legs and completes another takedown. Weidman postures up in Gastelum's closed guard and puts a few elbows on the face of the smaller man. The pace slows in the final minute of the round as Gastelum ties up from the bottom, not leaving Weidman much room to strike. Weidman takes the back of the kneeling Gastelum just before time expires.

Round 3

Gastelum comes out swinging but runs into a counter right hand from Weidman, who tries to snatch the neck of his dropped opponent as Gastelum stands up. Gastelum frees his neck and sticks a hard jab on Weidman's face. Weidman complains of an eye poke, gets no no reprieve from the ref, and now charges forward to ding Gastelum with long right hands. Gastelum denies a single-leg from the wrestler, but Weidman pushes him to the fence and drops to try a double. Weidman completes the shot with three minutes remaining but can't keep Gastelum on the mat. Back on the feet, Weidman throws knees at Gastelum from a rear waistlock before hurling him back to the floor. Gastelum kneels and Weidman spins to the back once again, setting both hooks and going to work on a choke with two minutes left. Gastelum rolls over and narrowly prevents a mount, but Weidman has an arm-triangle setup if he can put Gastelum's shoulders on the mat. Weidman flattens him out and bears down on the choke, and it looks extremely tight. Gastelum resists for as long as he can but is ultimately forced to tap out. The New York crowd goes berserk for their local fighter, as Chris Weidman snaps a three-fight losing streak with an emphatic finish.
