UFC on Fox 27 Weigh-in Results: Ronaldo ‘Jacare’ Souza, Derek Brunson Cleared for Rematch

Ronaldo Souza needed all of 41 seconds to blow away Derek Brunson in Strikeforce in 2012. Their second meeting will take place under the glare of a much harsher spotlight.

Lost in the Luke Rockhold-Robert Whittaker-Yoel Romero shuffle that has shaped the Ultimate Fighting Championship’s middleweight division, Souza tipped the scales at 186 pounds ahead of his rematch with Brunson (185) in the UFC on Fox 27 main event this Saturday at the Spectrum Center in Charlotte, North Carolina. Meanwhile, featherweight co-headliners Dennis Bermudez (145) and Andre Fili (146) also met their contracted weight requirements without issue at Friday’s official weigh-in.

UFC on Fox 27 “Jacare vs. Brunson 2” -- which airs live on Fox at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT -- will also feature a lightweight clash pairing the unbeaten Gregor Gillespie (155) with Jordan Rinaldi (155) and a welterweight affair pitting Drew Dober (170) against Frank Camacho (169).
