UFC on Fox 4 Medical Suspensions: Headliners ‘Shogun’ Rua, Brandon Vera Out at Least 45 Days
Eleven fighters were medically suspended by the California State Athletic Commission following UFC on Fox 4, including three of the four light heavyweights vying for a title shot at the Aug. 4 event.
Victorious headliner Mauricio Rua was suspended 45 days following his fourth-round knockout of Brandon Vera at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. Vera, meanwhile, was suspended 60 days for a facial laceration, though he may be cleared early by a physician. Regardless, like Rua, “The Truth” must spend at least 45 days on the shelf due to the intense nature of his bout.
