The UFC on Fox 9 bill continues to grow, as the promotion announced on Sunday that John Moraga and Darren Uyenoyama will lock horns on Dec. 14.
UFC on Fox 9 takes place at the Sleep Train Arena in Sacramento, Calif., and features a lightweight title tilt between Anthony Pettis and Josh Thomson. The card also includes a bantamweight scrap between Urijah Faber and Michael McDonald as well as a welterweight conflict pitting Carlos Condit against Matt Brown.
Moraga came up short in his bid for flyweight gold in July, as he was submitted by reigning 125-pound king Demetrious Johnson in the fifth round of their UFC on Fox 8 bout. Prior to that, the Arizona native began his UFC tenure with victories over Ulysses Gomez and Chris Cariaso.
After posting victories over Norifumi Yamamoto and Phil Harris in his first two Octagon outings, Uyenoyama suffered a devastating second-round knockout loss to Joseph Benavidez at UFC on Fox 7 in April.
